Taking a Cue From the Poker Brat?

With just under two minutes to go until the start of today's $50K H.O.R.S.E. event, there are still far more seats empty than full. We can only assume that with 100K in chips and the slow structure of this event, many players have opted for a fashionably late arrival a la Phil Hellmuth.

"These Players Paid $50,000..."

"This chair wobbles. These players did not pay $50,000 for a chair that wobbles," bellows the floor. The dealers hear an additional lecture, "There are no mistakes out there today!" Dinner menus have been set out for each player to pre-order dinner. This looks more like a choreographed wedding reception than a poker tournament.

90 Minutes 'Til Post Time

The gates will open at noon and the H.O.R.S.E. event will be off and running. We are 90 minutes from cards being in the air and there are close to 100 players that have ponied up the $50,000 entry fee. This will be a race to the finish and we will bring all the action to you.

What Many Pros Consider the 'Superbowl' Starts Today

Chip Reese
Chip Reese
This is the event that many of the top pros in the world have been waiting for - the $50,000 buy in H.O.R.S.E. event. Last year 143 players entered the event, which lasted three very long days. This year, the event is expanded to 5 days, which should make for some more fresh faces at the end. Of the players expected to enter, even the most casual poker fan should recognize most of the names. We have been looking forward to this event since the WSOP kicked off.

Can Chip Reese defend his title? How many prop bets are being made on this event? All those questions and more will be answered, starting at Noon Las Vegas time.
