Given the nature of this event, it's quite common to have a few great players at the same table. This lineup however, is noteworthy. Eli Elezra, Erik Seidel, Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer, Chad Brown, Cyndy Violette, Chip Reese, and Carlos Mortensen are all at the same table. For you historians out there...that's 3 world championships, 26 bracelets, and over $39 million in career earnings seated at the same table.
Tony G doubled up to 3,300, however, he was eliminated on the next hand. Two WSOP World Champions sent him to the rail. Greg Raymer and Carlos Mortensen were in the three-way pot and they both busted him as they split the pot.
Rob Hollink, Gavin Smith, and Greg "FBT" Mueller just got tied up in a hand.
The players' hands at showdown...
Hollink ()()()
Mueller(X)(X)(X)
Smith ()(J)(X)
Hollink played it for value, but even commented after the hand that he feared Mueller had a full house. Mueller mucked, as did Smith, and Hollink took this pot outright.
EPT Creator John Duthie has been eliminated from Day 2.
PokerNews caught up with John late yesterday to talk about the launch of Season Four of the EPT. Click here to check out the interview with John, along with all the other videos from this event.
Soheil Shamseddin and Annie Duke just mixed it up. On 7th street, the players showed the following...
Annie Duke (X)(X)(X)
Soheil Shamseddin (X)(X)(X)
Ali Eslami (X)(X)(X)
Duke checked and Shamseddin bet. Eslami thought the better of it and tossed his cards in the muck. Duke made the call and Shamseddin showed (X)()(), which was apparently good as Duke flipped her cards face down and pushed them to the dealer. Shamseddin now sits on 144,000 chips and Duke is down to 110,000
