After being short-stacked on a previous hand, Eli Elezra has managed to build his chips back up to 70,000. In a hand against Chip Reese and another player, Elezra took down a big pot when he drew one and managed an 8-7-6-3-2 low. After that hand, Reese is down to 15,000.
John Juanda made it 6,000 to go from the middle position when Tom Schneider raised to 22,000. Juanda made the call and drew one, while Schneider stood pat. Schneider showed 9-7-6-4-3 while Juanda made a 10-low. After the hand, Schneider is up to 171,000.
Dan Harmetz was eliminated by O'Neil Longson after Harmetz led out and Longson put him all-in. Harmetz made the call, both players stood pat, and Harmetz had a 10-9 to Longson's 10-6.
Chip Reese made it 5,500 to go while under the gun. A middle position player and Eli Elezra both called. Reese drew one, the middle position player drew two, and Elezra drew two. The middle position player made it 15,500 and only Elezra called. Elezra showed 10-8-6-3-2 while his opponent showed 9-7-5-4-3. After the hand, Elezra is down to 17,600.
Gavin Smith made it 6,000 to go from the middle position while John Juanda moved all-in for 26,300 total. Juanda had Gavin covered and Gavin made the call. Juanda drew one, while Gavin stood pat. Gavin showed J-8-7-6-3 while Juanda showed J-7-6-5-2. Gavin Smith was eliminated and Juanda is up to 53,700.
Tony G made it 6,000 to go from middle position and was called by Gavin Smith. Tony drew one as did Gavin. Tony made it 6,500 to go and Gavin made the call. Tony showed 9-7-6-4-2 and Gavin mucked. After the hand, Tony is up to 96,600.
Jeffrey Lisandro made it 7,000 to go and Sherkan Farnood moved all-in for 14,100 on top. Lisandro made the call and drew two, while Farnood stood pat. Farnood showed a 9-8-6-4-3 and Lisandro folded by tossing his hand onto the felt. Before the dealer could pick up the cards, Farnood leaned forward and tried to turn one over. Lisandro quickly objected and everyone at the table laughed at the attempt. "It's a home game," Freddy Deeb laughed.
Farzad Bonyadi, Michael Binger, and Chad Brown were all involved in an interesting hand. Binger made it 6,000 to go and Brown and Bonyadi called. Brown drew one, Binger drew two, and Bonyadi drew one. Brown made it 10,000 to go and Bonyadi made the call after Binger folded. "I paired," Brown announced as he mucked. Bonyadi turned over an ace-high low as he scooped up the chips.
After starting the day with 78 players, we are now down to just six tables. Each of the six tables are full of professional players and it will be very interesting to see how the night progresses.
