Ted Lawson Eliminated

Ted Lawson
Ted Lawson
With the board showing {K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Spades} on the turn and about 20,000 in the pot, Ted Lawson bets 8,000, his opponent moves all in for 40,000, and Lawson calls with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for top pair with a queen-high flush draw. His opponent shows {9-Spades}{5-Spades} for a nine-high flush, and Lawson needs another spade on the board to survive.

The river card is the {5-Diamonds}, and Lawson loses to his opponent's flush, and he is eliminated from the tournament.

His opponent, who was standing up while the board cards were dealt, looked around, apparently expecting ESPN to record his big moment as he busted a notable player. There were no cameras.

He unhappily sat down and said, "But, there was no camera." It look like he'll have to survive a while longer and do something more notable than that to get his moment in the sun on ESPN.
