Griffin Almost Felted, Sucks Out to Stay Alive

Gavin Griffin was down to only 23,000 after losing a huge chunk of his stack to Robert Aron. On the next hand, Arnold Spee raised from late position, and Griffin called all in from the small blind with {Q-Spades}{4-Spades} and was way behind to Spee's {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. The flop was {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} and things looked grim for Griffin, but he picked up a spade draw on the turn when the {A-Spades} fell. The river was... another spade, the {10-Spades} and Griffin doubled up to 60,000.
