Phil Ivey Doubles Up

After arriving late to today's event, Phil Ivey has brought his chip stack back to the 3,000 with which he started out. On a flop of {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Ivey committed the last of his chips and was called. He turned over {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs} and his opponent held {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{2-Spades}. The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Ivey won the pot with the nut flush.

Good Call

It appears Harrah's made the right choice moving everyone indoors. It looks like a section of the structure's wall in the rear left corner either collapsed or separated from the other sections and is lying on the ground. Security and other staff were gathered around the section in question keeping everyone at a distance.

The wind is relentless. It's still blowing hard enough to instantly grab your attention. Poker players are used to playing in the tightly-controlled atmosphere of a casino or cardroom, and the scene inside the Pavilion was anything but. I think we're all happy to be inside.

Chop Chop

Forgive the lack of hand histories, players are spread over a wide swath of the Amazon Room and, with split pot games, lots of heads-up pots get chopped up. We're looking for big confrontations and players with big stacks, whether they're big names or big names in the making.

Here's a quick look at our currently leaderboard:

J.C. Alvarado 16,000
Alan Mittelman 13,000
Raymond Davis 11,875
Dale Pinchot 10,850
Richard Nino 9,250
