Archie "The Greek" Karas Eliminated

A Legend Returns
A Legend Returns
Archie "The Greek" Karas's run in this Stud World Championship has come to an end. Karas had the remainder of his chips in the pot with buried kings, but Nick Schulman hit a straight on the river to send "The Greek" out of the tournament just shy of a payday.

While Archie Karas may not have made the money in this even, he still outlasted over 75 percent of the field, which is still quite an accomplishment considering the quality of competition in this event. This event should send a message to the poker world as a whole. Archie "The Greek" Karas has returned, and he is here to play.

Brown Down But Not Out!

A short-stacked Chad Brown has just doubled through Erik Seidel holding an ace-high flush. Brown moved to about 17,000 with Seidel also struggling on about 45,000 chips.

A few hands later Brown was all in again and this time rivered a flush against David Oppenheim to keep his head above water with over 40,000 chips.

Kravchenko Under Pressure

Facing aggression from David Oppenheim on every street, the action got to the river where Alex Kravchenko was facing another bet from his opponent. Oppenheim was showing {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, but in the end Kravchenko decided to fold his {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{A-Hearts}.

Kravchenko is now under pressure with about 84,000 while Oppenheim is up to 225,000 chips.

Lazarou's Stack Grows

After David Levi had bet all the way showing {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, Vassilios Lazarou took the lead on the river after both Levi and Barbara Lewis had checked the action to him. Levi made the call while Lewis folded her {10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Lazarou showed ({5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{A-Spades}) {9-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a set of fives which was the best hand as he scooped a nice pot to jump to over 440,000 chips.

Levi and Lewis are now both in trouble on the short stacks.
