Scotty Nguyen Eliminated Baby

Scotty's Gone Baby
Scotty's Gone Baby
Scotty Nguyen had the last of his chips in the middle against Erik Seidel. On sixth the boards were as follows:

Seidel: {10-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {J-Spades} ({2-Clubs} {8-Diamonds})
Nguyen: {J-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {7-Spades} {K-Hearts} ({A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds})

On the river, Nguyen turned over the ({A-Spades} ) to show aces up but Seidel turned over the ({8-Spades}) for a full house, and Nguyen started heading for the door.

All Aboard the Ivey-Train!

Ivey on Fire!
Ivey on Fire!
Look out, the Ivey-train is gathering momentum! We just caught the end of a hand against Nick Schulman, with Ivey firing on the river and Schulman deliberating for a long time before making the call. Ivey turned over kings full of eights for a full house, which was too good for Schulman.

Ivey is now suddenly sitting behind a huge stack worth about 175,000 to be up amongst the chip leaders, while Schulman is down to about 85,000.

The Pace Slows

As we expected at around this time of the evening, the pace of play has definitely slowed up since the dinner break.

The players realize that they are within sight of a cash finish, with some players tightening a little. Some others are taking advantage of the situation, such as Phil Ivey who has quietly accumulated some recent pots to move up to 145,000.

Oops She Did it Again

Annie Duke was just involved in a hand with Alex Kravchenko. Kravchenko bet every street and Duke called him down all the way to the river. At the end, Duke showed a pair of jacks. Jacks were good and Duke doubled up to 65,000.

The Greek Survives

Archie Karas has just doubled up through David Benyamine. Karas was all in but made a straight on sixth street with his ({A-Clubs}{K-Spades}) {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs} which was too good for Benyamine to overcome as all he had was a pair of fives.

Karas is hanging in there with 38,000 in chips, while Benyamine is slipping back to the pack with a touch over 100,000.
