Stann Doubles Up

Dave Stann found all his chips in the middle holding {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {8-Spades} {10-Spades}. He was up against an opponent's {K-?} {K-?} {Q-?} {J-?}.

Stann pulled ahead when the flop came {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} {7-Diamonds}, as he flopped top set. The turn was the {Q-Diamonds}, filling up Stann, and the river was the {6-Hearts}. Stann bested his opponent in the high and neither had a low hand, allowing Stann to scoop the pot and double back.

Controversey On Table #46

Jimmy Fricke was moved to table #46 after another table broke. He happened to move into the spot of the button and the other players at the table felt this wasn't right. For about 10 minutes now, the table has been arguing with the floor about the ruling and they want it changed. There hasn't been one hand played during this ordeal and some of the other players are getting frustrated over such a small thing.

Fricke stepped up from his seat and said, "I don't care if they give me the big blind, this game is already slow as it is. We just need to start playing."

The floor ended up moving Fricke to a new seat at the table for which he is not on the button.

Splash and Split

The action has slowed somewhat recently. Even after the bubble burst, players just don't seem to be heading to the rail. The pots are there, but there's a funny thing about Omaha-8, they have split pots! Most of the heads up pots have been split and seem to be slowing the action.

With a level increase in a few minutes, things should pick up.

James Bord Eliminated By Jim Pechac

Jim Pechac, who plays online as "azbigjim," just knocked out short-stacked Englishman James Bord.

Bord, who just 20 minutes ago celebrated his money finish by hugging a tablemate, will take home $4,025. This is Bord's second cash in the 2008 WSOP.

Men is Bubble Boy

Men Nguyen Out
Men Nguyen Out
Men Nguyen put in his last 4,000 preflop with {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and was called by Mallory Smith with {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}.

The board came {8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades} and "The Master" was eliminated in 55th place — to the delight of the rest of the field.
