Hughes Hits the Rail

Michael Sica limps in mid position, followed by Anthony Roux. Ryan Hughes in the cutoff makes it all in for, er, just 1,300. Behind him on the button Kevin Picklesimer makes it 3,600, and both Sica and Roux call.

Sica and Roux check the {8-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {K-Hearts} flop, and then fold when Picklesimer bets 7,000. Now isolated, Hughes' {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades} is well behind Picklesimer's {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}, and a {5-Clubs} turn and {7-Spades} river later, Hughes is history.

Gray Doubles Through Hansen

"Bah, humbug!"
"Bah, humbug!"
The bedlam continues with the frantic pace settling temporarily on table 2. With Thor Hansen (4-4) covering his foe, Craig 'MrCasino' Gray (A-K) requires some help to stay alive, which does indeed come in the form of a K-7-3-A-J board. Whilst Gray doubles to 36,000, Hansen drops to 18,000.

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

There has been much discussion of the unbelievably top-heavy prize structure on Table Hansen/Gray, with one player half-jokingly saying that he would be willing to fold kings preflop in the first few levels on the final table because of the massive jump in prize money between 10th and first...

A Structured Debate

Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken has been the first to voice his views on the structure, claiming that it is perhaps a little too top-heavy than it should be. According to the Dutchman, there is a good chance that tomorrow's finalists might attempt to strike a deal so everyone receives a sumptuous reward for surviving two consecutive tables. Of course, he could be alone in his opinions, so we'll have to wait and see.

From Russia with Love

Sergey Rybachenko is causing his table all sorts of bother, his stack currently just a gnat's breath away from the magical 100,000 mark.

However, he has recently taken a hit at the hands of Michael Sica who has taken the Russian down a notch or two.

On a flop of {K-Spades}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, Rybachenko check-called a bet of 4,000 before replying in a similar manner to a 12,400 all-in on the {A-Spades} river.

Whilst Rybachenko had {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for second pair and the inside straight draw, Sica had {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for top pair and the flush draw.

The {A-Diamonds} was a safe one for Sica who doubles through to circa 40,000.

LaGarde Beats Bowker

Matthew LaGarde has picked up a sizable pot courtesy of Kyle Bowker. Lagarde bet out 4,600 on a {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {Q-Spades} flop and Bowker made it 10,800. LaGarde called and they checked down the {10-Diamonds} turn and {J-Diamonds} river. LaGarde flipped over {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} and Bowker mucked.

LaGarde up to 60,000; Bowker reduced to 36,200.

Eliminations Galore

Ali Eslami has knocked out David Colin with pocket aces versus pocket nines.

-----

Andrey Zaichenko has bitten the dust as well, going all in from early position with {6-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for a desperate 3,000 or so. Alexander Veldhuis called from the big blind with {10-Clubs} {4-Spades} and the {K-Clubs} {10-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {J-Spades} board did nothing for Zaichenko.

-----

Joe Graziano is also gone. Holding {4-Spades} {7-Spades} , he called an utg raise from Craig Marquis from his position in the big blind, and shoved the {K-Spades} {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds} flop for 8,300. Marquis called him with {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}, the flush failed to materialize, and he's out. Marquis going strong on 72,200.
