Deeb Hits the Felt

Orange #12 has been pretty quiet. Even with the recent addition of Erik Seidel to the table, there hasn't been much action. (Unfortunately for us, this is the table closest to media row.) With the rebuy period set to end in about ten minutes, the table is loosening a little. In this hand, Freddy Deeb and Robert Mizrachi got it all in the middle before the draw. Deeb drew one card; Mizrachi stood pat with a 9-8. That was enough to take down the pot and increase Mizrachi's stack to about 54,000.

Chris Ferguson Doubles Up

All in for what was roughly his last 24,000, Chris Ferguson drew one card against his opponent's pat ten. He slowly and dramatically squeezed his single drawn card to finally reveal the {8-Diamonds} to give him {8-?} {7-?} {5-?} {3-?} {2-?}. Ferguson doubled up to just under 50,000.

Gambooooool!

Texas Dolly
Texas Dolly
Nobody ever accused Texas Dolly of not having any gamble in him. After Lyle Berman raised to 3,000, Doyle Brunson reraised to 10,000. Berman considered his options for a few moments before reraising all in for 44,000. Brunson made the call.

With both players all in, there was no need for mystery on the draw. Berman turned over K-8-6-4-2, discarding the king. Brunson showed J-7-6-4-2, discarding the jack. Each player squeezed his cards out in turn. Berman squeezed out a 5 to make an 8-6 low. Brunson could only win by squeezing out one of the remaining 5s or a 3. Sure enough, he squeezed out a 3 to make a 7-6-4-3-2, the second nuts.

What Are the Odds?

In a cruel twist of irony, (given the objective of this particular game) Roland de Wolfe was just dealt a royal flush. Having only received five cards and no draws, the odds of this happening are roughly equivalent to winning a nationwide lottery.

Mike Being Mike

The context of the remarks are unclear, but Mike "The Mouth" Matusow was just overheard saying "I just want Phil to get his head out of his *ss." To which Phil he was referring is not completely clear, but given their relationship, the smart money is on Hellmuth.

A Hand that Works Out Better for Black

After taking a hit just a few minutes ago, Andy Black came back with a double up. He reraised all in for about 10,000 after Eli Elezra had opened the pot for 2,500 and Greg "FBT" Mueller had called. Elezra called Black's all in, but Mueller folded.

On the draw, Black stood pat and Elezra drew one. Black had an almost unbeatable hand, showing down 7-6-5-4-2. Elezra didn't have any of the hands that beat Black. He mucked his hand and immediately rebought.

Black now has about 28,000 in chips.

Cunningham One Ups "The Grinder"

We caught up to this hand after the second round of betting. All of Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi's money was in the middle and he was looking at Allen Cunningham's {8-?} {6-?} {4-?} {3-?} {2-?}. Mizrachi flashed an {8-?} as he mucked. Cunningham wins the pot and sends Mizrachi into his pocket for a rebuy.

Black Can't Outdraw Two

Andy Black may wish he had this hand back. After Dario Alioto made it 2,400 to go, Greg "FBT" Mueller called from the button, as did Black from the big blind. Black drew one; Alioto stood pat; Mueller drew two. After all the cards were dealt, Black bet 7,000 as first to act. Alioto folded his pat hand, but Mueller made the call.

"I missed," said Black. He showed ace-high. Mueller opened a 9-7 for the winning hand and raked a pot worth over 21,000.

Roland de Wolfe Forced to Rebuy

Tom Schneider raised to 1,800 from middle position. Action foled to Roland de Wolfe in the small blind and he made it 4,000 to play. Schneider made the call and drew one. De Wolfe stood pat and checked. Schneider then bet 10,000 and de Wolfe called. Schneider showed {8-?} {7-?} {6-?} {4-?} {3-?} and de Wolfe mucked. Tom Schneider is now working with 31,000 while de Wolfe springs for a single rebuy.

Matusow Draws Two and Stacks Raymer

When you're running good, you're running good. Mike Matusow drew two against Greg Raymer's one. Matusow drew absolutely perfectly, catching a 5 and a 7 to go along with his 2-3-4 to make the nuts. Raymer bet 3,000 after the draw and called Matusow's all in. Clearly, he wasn't expecting Matusow to draw two and catch the nuts.

After the hand, Matusow's stack increased to 43,000.
