Michael Binger Doubles Through Nick Schulman

Michael Binger
Michael Binger
Michael Binger found himself all in against Nick Schulman for his last 71,000. Binger drew one card and Schulman liked his hand as-is. Schulman tabled a {10-?} {8-?} while he waited for Binger to check his drawn card.

Binger had already turned up his {7-?} {6-?} {4-?} {2-?} and after a quick peek, he flipped up a {10-?} to go with it, barely beating Schulman's hand.

Binger doubled to approximately 150,000 while Schulman is left with right about 160,000 after the hand.

Brunson on the Edge

Doyle Brunson finds himself in short stack territory after a recent hand with Michael Binger and Tom Schneider. After Binger raised to 13,000, Brunson and Schneider called from the blinds. Each man drew one card. Brunson bet 25,000 after the draw and was called only by Schneider, who showed 10-8. Brunson did not show his hand before he mucked it.

That hand crippled Brunson to about 20,000 in chips. He was all in shortly thereafter against Nikolay Edvakov. Brunson stood pat with a king-queen(!) after Edvakov drew two. It was a good decision; Edvakov paired tens.

Brunson is currently nursing a stack of about 41,000.

Ferguson Exists in 18th

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson made it deep in Event #18, but not quite deep enough. Ferguson, with the button, called a raise from Barry Greenstein to 15,000 only to see Tom "durrr" Dwan raise to 60,000 behind him in the small blind. Greenstein folded, but Ferguson made a stand and called all in.

On the draw, Dwan stood pat. Ferguson, knowing he needed to hit, drew one. Dwan opened a 9-8 after the draw was completed. Ferguson squeezed out his cards but could only come up with a Q-9. He is out.

For his part, Dwan is up to 550,000 in chips.

Schulman Busts Bechtel

A long two days for Jim Bechtel has ended just short of the money. After Nick Schulman raised to 15,000, Bechtel reraised all in for 51,000. Schulman called and both players stood pat on the draw. Schulman opened 10-8. We never saw Bechtel's hand, as he mucked it, collected his belongings and headed for the exit.

Another Bust-Out

Shawn Sheikhan has exited the Amazon Room. He reraised all in for 50,000 after Nikolay Edvakov had opened the pot for 20,000. Edvakov called and stood pat. Sheikhan drew one card. At first, Edvakov would not turn his cards up once Sheikhan drew, despite the rest of the table telling him to do so. (Readers who were with us yesterday may remember that Phil Hellmuth complained that Edvakov slowrolled him yesterday, prompting Hellmuth to call Edvakov a clueless donkey.)

Finally, Edvakov opened 9-8, which was better than Sheikhan's ten. Edvakov now has 220,000 chips.

Flack Eliminated

We're one step closer to the final table. Layne Flack raised to 16,000 from the small blind. Jeff Lisandro reraised all in from the big blind and Flack called all in for less.

Flack drew one card; Lisandro stood pat. When Flack squeezed his cards out, he had paired sevens. Lisandro turned over a 9-8 to rake the 65,000 pot and send Flack to the rail.

Nikolay Evdakov Doubles Through Shawn Sheikhan

Nikolay Evdakov

Action folded around to Shawn Sheikhan in the cutoff seat. He raised to 18,000. Nikolay Evdakov moved all in for 60,000 from the big blind. Sheikhan made the call and drew one. Evdakov stood pat.

Evdakov showed a {J-?} {10-?} low. Sheikhan's largest card was a {9-?} but he made a flush.

Evdakov doubled to approximately 130,000.
