Mike Wattel Eliminated
Mike Wattel Eliminated
Mike Wattel just made his stand when he was all in for his last 11,500 on 3rd street. It was a three-way pot against Barry Greenstein and Chris Viox. The players showed:

Wattel: (X) (X) {4-?}
Greenstein: (X) (X) {6-?}
Viox: (X) (X) {10-?}

There was a side pot between Greenstein and Viox and there was a bet on every street. A bit of controversy arose when, after checking his river card, Wattel turned his entire hand face down and waited to muck. Greenstein was facing a bet from Viox and took issue with Wattel letting Viox know he had won the main pot as well. Barry eventually made the call and the players showed.

Wattel: (X) (X) {4-?} {6-?} {A-?} {4-?} (X)
Greenstein: (X) (X) {6-?} {7-?} {9-?} {8-?} (X)
Viox: {10-?} {4-?} {3-?} {K-?} ({A-?}) ({2-?}) ({5-?})

Viox scooped both pots and Wattel was eliminated in eighth place and takes home $16,386 for his efforts.

Greenstein Cripples "The Greek"

In a pot that saw heavy betting to the river, Barry Greenstein and Archie "The Greek" Karas just had a showdown. The players showed:

Karas: {8-?} {7-?} {4-?} {3-?} {A-?}
Greenstein: {7-?} {6-?} {3-?} {2-?} {A-?}

Karas is crippled down to about 25,000 while Greenstein surges to well over 300,000 chips.

Wattel On Life Support

With just 17,000 chips left, Mike Wattel is waiting for his spot to double up. He has been folding hand after hand after hand, often getting paint for his up card. We are keeping a close eye on him to report any double-ups and/or his elimination should it occur.

The First Few Hands...

Mark Tenner took down the first two hands when his bets went uncalled on 7th street (the first hand) and 4th street (the 2nd hand.)

Archie Karas beat Mike Wattel in a showdown when his {9-?} {7-?} {6-?} {3-?} {A-?} bested Wattel's {9-?} {8-?} {4-?} {2-?} {A-?}.
