Game On....or not.

Our players have returned from break, or rather they are scheduled to. Players were supposed to be back at 8:45, but John Phan hasn't returned. They will wait five minutes and then start dealing without him.

Dinner Break

After both players appeared to be satisfied with the discussions, John Phan stood up out of nowhere and said "We're going to dinner...90 minutes!"

The last thirty minutes have been almost embarrassing as the focus has shifted away from what would have been an entertaining heads-up battle.

Under almost farcical circumstances we're off to dinner. See you in 90 minutes.

Discussions

Over the last two or three hands, John Phan and Johnny Neckar have been having a series of discussions. We were unable to hear the details but after one hand, Neckar had to leave to have another discussion of his own. When he returned, the two shook hands and continued play.

Interesting Discussions?

Since the break we've noticed that John Phan has moved around to the six-seat after being in the five-seat all day to move closer to Neckar in the eight-seat. The two played a small pot after the break and then appeared to start chatting.

They then shook hands, seemingly in a gesture of good luck.

However the next hand was strange as the two entered into lengthy discussions during the middle of the hand. Neckar had limped and Phan was considering his option in the big blind. Unfortunately the discussions were at a volume that only dogs could hear as we struggled to catch anything that was said. It was a strange few minutes as no one was really sure what was happening as we couldn't hear the players' chat and there was no action in the hand!

After a good five minutes, Phan finally checked his option. The flop came {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Phan check-folded to the bet from Neckar.

Neckar maintains a healthy lead and it will be interesting to see what develops in this contest moving forward.

Break

The players had earlier decided to play on rather than take the scheduled 20-minute break, but after the last hand John Phan called for a quick break and Neckar agreed. We'll be back shortly.
