Singer On Fire

A player raised from under-the-gun with David Singer making the call from the small blind along with the player in the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and the blinds checked the action with the preflop aggressor firing out 2,500. Singer made the call and the big blind folded.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and both players checked.

The river was the {4-Clubs} and Singer led out with a 7,000 chip bet which was called. Singer flipped over {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a rivered two pair to collect the pot as his opponent tossed his cards into the muck.

A few moments later Singer had a short-stacked opponent all in. Singer held {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} against his opponent's {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}. The board ran out {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} and with these two hands Singer has jumped to 46,500 chips and is in great shape to make it through the day's play.

Ryan Young Doubles Up Through John Phan

On a flop of {7-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} , Ryan Young bet 5,000 into John Phan. Phan then came over the top for around 50,000, which was enough to put Young all in. Young makes the call saying, "all I have is ace king." Young proceeded to turn over {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} and Phan turned over {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}. The turn of the {10-Spades} helped neither player, but the river card of the {A-Spades} gave Young a pair of aces and allowed him to move up to 53,000 in chips. After the hand, Phan is down to 55,000 in chips.

Batista Mixes It Up

With two limpers in front of him Chad Batista also limped, and the blinds joined in to see a cheap flop of {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

The action checked to Batista who fired out a healthy bet and his opponents all folded their hands. Batista then showed his hole cards as {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}! Not the prettiest flop for black aces but Batista gets out of a tricky situation unscathed.

Mercier Rivers Flush

2008 European Poker Tour San Remo Champion Jason Mercier has just found a nice double-up after spiking a flush on the river.

Mercier was racing with {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} against his opponent's A-K and fell behind on the turn when the board landed {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. But when the river brought the {9-Hearts} Mercier held the only heart to capture the pot and move to 21,000 in chips.

The Rain Has Ended

Hevad 'Rain' Khan Eliminated
Hevad 'Rain' Khan Eliminated
In a big-action pot preflop, Hevad 'Rain' Khan moved all in, but had two opponents make the call. Khan held {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} but was in trouble against the {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} of his opponents.

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, and the set of tens scoops the pot to send the gentle giant to the rail.

YEAH!!!!!!

The Amazon room just erupted in cheers as Tiger Wood sank a putt on 18 to force a playoff tomorrow with Rocco Mediate. Mediate went into the clubhouse as the leader of the U.S. Open with Woods one shot behind with two to play. His birdie on 18 will force an 18 hole playoff tomorrow. It should be interesting to see if Woods' knee can hold up for another round of golf.

Raymer Gets Squeezed

Greg Raymer opened with a raise from late position before the player in the big blind made a move for his last 6,000 chips from the big blind. Raymer insta-called with pocket kings as his opponent sheepishly turned over an ambitious {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

However, remarkably the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}, and the big blind made a miraculous straight to claim the 13,000-chip pot and leave Raymer disgusted on about 9,000.
