I Came Back Today for That?

And we've had our first elimination already. Coming back today one of the super-short stacks, Ronnie Hofman stuck his last 7,000 in from the small blind with a respectable {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades} but was short enough to get himself called by Jacobo Fernandez holding a rather less respectable {K-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} (Fernandez had already raised from late position, and it wasn't much more to call). A {2-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {K-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} board later, and Hofman was gone.

------

And indeed we've had our second exit too -- George Bronstein, in circumstances unknown.

Serious Business

As we perch in the corner of the room awaiting the inevitable sequence of double-ups and exits, my initial observation is that the atmosphere is rather more serene than before, players clearly enjoying their good night's sleep, not to mention the more manageable 2pm start, and 100% focused on the issue in hand. With the money starting to rise, nobody wants to make a mistake, and it certainly tells as players begin to take more time over their decisions.

Meanwhile, the tension is at maximum volume on the two adjacent tables, the neighboring $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Freezeout being played to a conclusion with chief carrot/cucumber chopper Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson being one of those remaining 18.

De-Bagging

Good morning (2pm definitely counts as morning in the Amazon Room) and welcome back to Day 2 of our super-mega-high-speed pot limit bonanza! Chips are being tipped out of their sealed baggies as I type, which suggests to me that we'll be kicking off on time, in around 25 minutes. It should be nuts...
