Chad Batista Eliminated

Chad has been Batista bombed out of today's tournament, his raise from the cutoff being reraised all in by the big blind for 5,400 total. Batista made the call with A-9, but was up against pocket tens. Although an ace came out first card, it was followed by a ten and the online pro was sent home.

Aguiar Cracks Aces

John Aguiar has cracked an opponent's pocket aces with the mighty {A-Clubs} {2-Spades} to send him to the rail -- all in on the turn of a {2-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} board, the unknown player must have been horrified, and the {3-Diamonds} on the river couldn't help him. Aguiar now on 32,000.

Racener Keeping His Head Above Water

Now with hat, though
Now with hat, though
John "Spiky" Racener, his spikiness concealed under a baseball cap, saw a {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {7-Spades} flop from the small blind. He and his opponent both checked it, and Racener checked the {Q-Hearts} turn as well, before calling his opponent's 600 bet. The river was the {K-Spades} and Racener bet out 1,200, forcing his opponent to fold.

Racener is now on a below average but still manageable 16,000.

Batista Takes a Blow

Chad Batista
Chad Batista
Chad Batista has been moving his stack in a lot of late, openly informing the table that he is looking to build a healthy stack within the next few rounds.

As his stack rose above average, Batista became involved in a three-way pot. With just over 3,000 already in the middle, Batista moved all in on the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop and was called by the player on the button.

Whilst his opponent showed {A-Spades}{8-Spades} for the open ended straight draw, Batista tabled an in front but vulnerable {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for second pair. However, a cruel {6-Spades} on the turn was a crushing blow, the useless {Q-Hearts} river leaving Batista with just 4,000 in chips.

Camel Left Spitting in Double Elimination

Keith 'the Camel' Hawkins is a recent departure in what turned out to be a double knock-out. Betting out 1,100 on a {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} board, Hawkins was called in one spot, but raised to 3,000 in another by Alon Shahar. Hawkins pushed in for his remaining 4,425 and both remaining players smooth called.

A {3-Hearts} on the river and all the chips flew in, Hawkins mucking his cards dejectedly as Shahar revealed {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for the rivered straight.

Shahar now on 46,500.
