Beth Shak Cracks Aces

Beth Shak just took her chip stack over the 12,000 mark. In a "battle of the blinds," she got it all in from the small blind on a flop of {2-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {3-Clubs} and showed {2-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}. Her big blind opponent tabled {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and never caught up. She now commands a chip stack of approximately 12,500.

C.K. Hua Eliminated

I think not wearing his signature black Gucci man-purse slung across his body today may have scrambled C.K. Hua's brain.

The UTG player opened for 200, Hua raised to 550, the big blind moved all in for 1,800, UTG folded and Hua called, turning up {J-Clubs} {7-Clubs} to the big blind's {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. Hua couldn't improve and he was knocked down to 3,100 in chips.

On a subsequent hand, Hua made it 700 to go and the big blind shoved to 3,450. Hua called, and found his {A-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} up against the big blind's {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} . The big blind flopped top set and raked in all but 200 of Hua's chips. Those last 200 went in a short time later and Hua's {A-?} {7-?} could not improve against Marc Nasser's {A-?} {Q-?}, eliminating him from the tournament.

I'd be looking for that purse about now if I were him.

Melissa Hayden Doubles Up

Melissa Hayden moved all in from middle position for 575. She got one caller who showed {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs}, which was well behind her {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}. There wasn't so much of a sweat as the board came {8-Spades} {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} {7-Spades} {9-Clubs} giving Hayden the win and the double up. She now sits on about 1,300 chips.

Humberto Brenes Takes a Hit

Humberto Brenes raised to 600 from early position. The player next to act, reraised all in for 2,350. Brenes had him covered and made the call. The players showed:

Brenes: {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Spades} {2-Spades} {2-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {6-Hearts} leaving Brenes with the worst of it. He slipped to 4,100 chips.

Paul Spitzberg Eliminated

Action folded to Paul Spitzberg on the button and he moved all in for his last 1,350. The big blind made the call and the players showed:

Spitzberg: {A-Hearts} {10-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}

The board helped neither player and Spitzberg was sent packing.

David Pham Doubles Up

Action folded around to David Pham on the button and he moved all in for just over 3,000 chips. The small blind made the call and the players showed:

Pham: {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

The board helped neither player and Pham doubled up to approximately 7,700 chips.

Greg Raymer Doubles Up

After a standard raise from the cutoff seat, Greg Raymer moved all in from the small blind for approximately 3,000. The cutoff made the call and the players showed:

Raymer: {8-Spades} {8-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}

The board helped neither player and "Fossilman" doubled up to about 6,700.

Michael Mizrachi Eliminated

It was a short day for Michael Mizrachi. "The Grinder" played his {A-?} {Q-?} for a raise preflop and then got all his chips in on the {10-?} {10-?} {3-?} flop. He got action from the {A-?} {K-?} of Kyle Remissong and when the turn and river bricked, he headed for the rail.

Jacob Dominates

The UTG player raised to 250, Alex Jacob raised to 1,000 from early position, the UTG player moved all in for 1,600 and Jacob called. Jacob's {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} dominated his opponent's {K-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}, which could not improve on the {4-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {2-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} board. Jacob is now up to 7,000.
