Alvarado Building a Stack

Three players including J.C. Alvarado limped in and saw a {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Spades} flop. The action was checked around. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}. The small blind led for 400, the big blind folded, J.C. Alvarado raised to 950 and the small blind called. The river was the {4-Clubs}. The small blind checked, Alvarado bet 1,600 and the small blind called.

Alvarado turned up {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and the small blind mucked. He's now up to 12,000 in chips.

Mark Seif Eliminated

After an early-position player limped in, Mark Seif moved all in from the button. The blinds passed but the limper insta-called. Seif was in trouble as his {A-Spades} {4-Hearts} was dominated by his opponent's {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}.

Despite flopping an inside straight draw, Seif came up short in the hand and headed for the rail.

Melissa Hayden Triples Up

Melissa Hayden
After four players limped into the pot, Melissa Hayden raised all in from the big blind for 1,300. She got two callers and the flop came {10-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts}. With action on the side, one player bet and the other quickly folded. The players showed:

Hayden: {4-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}
Opponent: {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}

Hayden had her opponent drawing all but dead, and sure enough, he failed to improve. Hayden took down the pot and is now working with about 4,300 chips.

Seif Kills His Own Action

We caught up to this hand on the turn. With the board reading {J-Spades} {10-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}, Seif bet 200 and got two callers. As the dealer was making the pot right, Seif dramatically called for a {7-?} multiple times. Sure enough, the {7-Hearts} hit the river. Seif's river bet prompted a quick fold from both of his opponents and he seemed to regret the charade.

"Hard to get paid off when you call for it I guess," said Seif after the hand.
