Kirby Brewer Eliminated

Kirby Brewer moved all in preflop and was called by Doug Middleton. Middleton showed {Q-Spades} {10-Spades} and Kirby held {K-Spades} {9-Spades}. Things looked great for Kirby until a queen fell on the flop. Kirby failed to improve and was eliminated.

Nadim Shabou Eliminates R.W. West

Sadly, this time we know for sure that R.W. Best was knocked out. He moved in the last of his chips with {A-Spades} {10-Hearts} and Nadim Shabou, short-stacked himself and in the big blind, had no choice but to call with {J-Clubs} {4-Spades}. Shabou flopped a jack, and when Best didn't catch an ace on the turn or river he was eliminated.

Justin Wald Eliminates Robert Cotton

Wald raised to 22,000 under the gun and Cotton moved in for his last 48,000. Once again we had a coin-flip situation, Cotton's pocket nines against Wald's {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}, and again the pocket pair lost out as the flop came king-high. Cotton's tournament came to an end and Wald is now up to 280,000.

Easy Come Easy Go

Cody Slaubaugh had just taken a large hand earlier, but has now lost a large part of his stack.

Preflop, Cody made it 21,000 to go when Thomas Gabriel raised to 58,000. Cody made it 158,000 and Gabriel moved all in. Cody called, showed A-10 and was up against Gabriel's pocket jacks.

The hook held up, helping Gabriel surpass the 300,000 mark while Cody dropped to 180,000.

Zolner Shortstacked and in the Worst Way

Sutton Zolner was facing a raise preflop from John Shipley of 25,000. Zulner moved all in and Shipley called. Zulner held pocket aces and was up against Shipley's pocket sevens.

An elimination seemed imminent, until Shipley spiked a seven on the turn. Zulner was left with 2,500 and eliminated shortly after, while Shipley is up to 280,000.

Correction--

Christopher Goo did NOT eliminate R.W. Best. At the end of the hand I mentioned where Goo's K-Q defeated Best's pocket sixes, Best still had 50,000. Chip and a chair, as the saying goes. And it certainly goes for 50,000 in chips.

Jesper Hougaard Eliminates Richard Deeb

After an early position raise to 20,000, Richard Deeb moved in for his last 75,000 and Jesper Hougaard called in the small blind. The original raiser folded and Deeb's pocket eights needed to hold up against Hougaard's {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. But Hougaard flopped a queen, Deeb couldn't unearth another eight, and his night came to an end. Hougaard is now up to 480,000.

Color Up Coming Soon

And it couldn't be sooner for Danny Wong, who's among our chip leaders here, as he has amassed quite a substantial amount of 500 chips. So many, in fact, that for the color up he's already stacked up five solid racks. Even after buying up the remaining 500s from the table, he had around six full racks to exchange. Wong was among the chip leaders earlier in the day and has yet to fall very low. He's been teetering between 500,000 and 650,000 for a bit now, winning and losing an occasional pot.
