Mahmood Extends His Lead

Ayaz Mahmood
Ayaz Mahmood
Ayaz Mahmood is on a wild rampage at the moment, his stack increasing to a mammoth 112,000 after seeing off an opponent with A-T versus 9-9 all in preflop.

Mahmood is now your current chip leader with Lee Watkinson lying in second.

Jason Lester Eliminated

Jason Lester
Jason Lester
Veteran of the felt Jason Lester is now gone. He raised it to 3,000 preflop and was called in the cutoff by Michael Binger, who, incidentally, I hear has played more events than anyone this year.

On the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop, Lester led out for 6,500, only to be raised virtually all in by Binger who made it 26,500 to go.

Lester thought and thought before making the call with Q-J. Binger flipped a set of eights for the win.

Gowen Doubles Up But Still in Trouble

A super-short-stacked Clonie Gowen has doubled up on a coinflip. She moved all in under the gun with {K-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} and was called by an opponent holding {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} -- things improved for her on the {5-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} flop, and got even better on the {Q-Clubs} turn and {A-Clubs} river. However, she is still pretty much desperate on just 6,900 after the double-up.

Current Chip Leaders

After some hours with Ayaz Mahmood reigning supreme, Lee Watkinson has snuck back into the chip lead with 127,000 to Mahmood's 103,000. Michael Binger is not far behind, having also just broken the 100,000 mark.

Liv Another Day

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree
Luscious Liv Boeree lives to fight another day having survived a preflop all in encounter with Robert Cheung.

With the button limping and Cheung making it 3,000 from the small blind, Liv Boeree pushed for 7,000 from the big. Cheung called the extra 4,000 and meekly showed {2-Spades}{3-Hearts}, whilst Boeree was relieved to be in dominating shape with {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

A {J-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board teased a split pot, but it wasn't to be, and Boeree jumps up to 15,300. Cheung, meanwhile, drops down to 25,300.

Bubble Fast Approaching

With just 68 players left and only five places to go before we reach the bubble, it would appear as though yet another event is going to reach the money within one day.

Currently short-stacked and in desperate need of a double through are Liv Boeree, Eugene Todd and Vanessa Rousso.
