Noah Boeken Eliminated

After nurturing a short-stack for a round, Noah Boeken finally bit the dust with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} versus the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} of Neil Channing, all in on a {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop.

A harmless {Q-Diamonds} turn and {A-Spades} river later and the Dutchman was gone, an "unlucky" consolatory comment from Channing and a congratulatory tap of the table from Boeken marking the end of the hand.

Vinson Invincible

Alan Vinson has doubled up his micro-stack to 6,900. All in on his big blind with {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} coinflipping against an opponent's {K-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}, Vinson's hand held up all the way and hit an unnecessary set on the river for good measure as the board came down {5-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {4-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {9-Spades}.

Vinson then proceeded to double up again, and is currently not quite out of the danger zone but certainly more comfortable on 17,300.

Boeken Misses Monster Draw

Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken
With the board reading {6-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, I joined the action with Noah Boeken sliding a bet (or perhaps raise) of 11,500 across the felt, which equated to virtually half his stack.

George Shah, meanwhile, took no time in reraising all in, a move that was called equally as quickly by Boeken.

On their backs, and the hands were as follows:

Boeken = {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Shah = {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

Boeken held his breath as the dealer's hand neared the deck, but upon the {Q-Clubs} hitting the felt for the full house, the Dutchman's tensions erupted and he punched the air in frustration.

As the academic {8-Hearts} arrived on the river, Boeken continued to shake his head in dismay, part ruing his misfortune and part trying to convince himself that he could have seen a cheap turn.

Whilst the Dutchman is down to the felt with 6,000, Shah is now rubbing his hands with glee with a meatalicous 60,000 in chips.

Bubble Fast Approaching

With just 68 players left and only five places to go before we reach the bubble, it would appear as though yet another event is going to reach the money within one day.

Currently short-stacked and in desperate need of a double through are Liv Boeree, Eugene Todd and Vanessa Rousso.

Liv Another Day

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree
Luscious Liv Boeree lives to fight another day having survived a preflop all in encounter with Robert Cheung.

With the button limping and Cheung making it 3,000 from the small blind, Liv Boeree pushed for 7,000 from the big. Cheung called the extra 4,000 and meekly showed {2-Spades}{3-Hearts}, whilst Boeree was relieved to be in dominating shape with {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

A {J-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board teased a split pot, but it wasn't to be, and Boeree jumps up to 15,300. Cheung, meanwhile, drops down to 25,300.

Current Chip Leaders

After some hours with Ayaz Mahmood reigning supreme, Lee Watkinson has snuck back into the chip lead with 127,000 to Mahmood's 103,000. Michael Binger is not far behind, having also just broken the 100,000 mark.
