Desperate Double-Up for Rousso

A very short-stacked Vanessa Rousso has doubled up to 7,200. She pushed all in from the big blind to a raise from the small blind, and found herself very far behind when he called, holding {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts} to the small blind's {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs}. However, the {7-Hearts} {K-Spades} {6-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {9-Spades} board was a good one for her, and she stays in the game, although still dangerously low on chips.

Amnon Filippi Eliminated

Amnon Filippi
Amnon Filippi
When I joined the hand, there was several thousand in the pot with Amnon Filipi (early position) and Trevor Lawson (button) heading into their second post-dinner battle.

However, it would be one that Lawson would win, his all in to Filippi's leading bet on a {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop being quickly called, Lawson showing {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}, Filippi {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

Turn = {7-Spades}

River = {Q-Clubs}

Filippi stormed off as an elated Lawson quietly clenched his fist in victory.

Lady Scares Von Halle

Paul Foltyn raised to 1,700 preflop and received two callers, one of whom was Jan Von Halle in the big blind.

Flop = {Q-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Von Halle checked allowing Foltyn to continue bet for 2,200. The button teased, at one point looking as though he was contemplating a raise, before making the fold, but Von Halle was less accommodating, quickly calling the bet.

Turn = {Q-Spades}

Von Halle's check was again followed by a Foltyn bet, this time for 4,500.

Von Halle reluctantly folded, showing the {K-Clubs} in the process.

An Unfortunate Tale

A rather sad story has come to us of British player Simon Hennessey. We noticed a couple of hours in that he hadn't turned up, his name card sitting by his lonely, dwindling stack of chips. It turns out he thought that the event was tomorrow, and by the time he realized his mistake and sped down to the Amazon Room, he had been blinded down to just 1,200. After grinding like he had never ground before, he built his few remaining chips up into an above-average stack -- and then lost it all on a coinflip. Such is poker.

Table of Pros

We have a very interesting table share happening at the moment -- on what was formerly Table Minieri before Dario busted out, Eli Elezra, Noah Boeken and Neil Channing are currently battling it out. Boeken is on 40,500, Channing is on 16,500 and Elezra is verging on the desperate with just 6,000.

Lawson Receives Minor Blow

Trevor Lawson has received a minor blow courtesy of Amnon Filippi. With Lawson raising it up from mid-position, Filipi made the call in the small blind leading to a flop of {10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{A-Spades}. Another hand was simultaneously going down on a neighbouring table at the time, but it looked as though Lawson had continued to bet 3,500 on the flop, checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and folded to a 5,000 bet on the {5-Clubs} river.

Lawson now at 32,000.
