Mike Caro Eliminated

The UTG player raised, an early position player reraised, and Mike Caro called all in for 400. The flop was {J-Hearts} {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds}. The UTG player bet 3,000 and the EP player folded.

Caro's {A-Spades} {8-Clubs} was up against {J-Spades} {10-Spades}. The turn was the {4-Hearts}, the river was the {Q-Clubs} and Caro's opponent made a queen-high straight to eliminate him from the tournament.

Humberto Misses Three Bets

There was already 4,000 in the pot when the flop came down {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {5-Clubs} . Humberto Brenes checked from the small blind and his two opponents checked behind him. The turn was the {J-Clubs}. Check-check-check. The river was the {3-Diamonds}. Checked around again.

Brenes' opponents showed {A-?} {8-?} and {A-?} {9-?}. With a flourish, Brenes tabled two red sevens.

"Ohhh nooooo! I miss a bet on the flop, I miss a bet on the turn, I miss a bet on the river!" cried Humberto as he raked in the small pot.

Theo Tran Takes a Hit

On a board of {K-?} {9-?} {8-?} {7-?}, Theo Tran called his opponent's all in and instantly asked, "Do you have a set?"

His opponent shook his head and said, "I have the nuts," as he rolled over {J-?} {10-?}. Tran was holding {A-?} {A-?} and drawing dead.

A meaningless {5-?} hit the river and Tran is down to just under 15,000.

Moving Time

In order to accommodate the sellout crowd registered for this event, the players were spread all throughout the Rio. From here in the Amazon Room, to the Brasilia Room and the Tropical Room and various other overflow areas, the players and tables were distributed all over. With the fast pace of eliminations, however, enough tables have finally broken to accommodate all the players here in the Amazon Room.

A Singer Saga

On a flop of {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}. A middle-position player checked to David Singer in the cutoff, who bet 1,500. The MP player insta-called. The {2-Diamonds} came down on the turn. This time, the MP player led out for 2,500. Singer, who is typically emotionless while playing, screwed his face up a bit and sat up in his chair, leaning over the table as he tanked, and finally made the call.

"Do you have it?" asked Singer. His opponent remained silent.

The river was the {10-Hearts} . The MP player led out for 1,500. Singer only had 2,000 left in his stack.

"You're not putting me all in? You're going to leave me with chips?" wondered Singer before making the call.

"Two pair," said Singer.

"You had me," said his opponent as he mucked his cards.

Singer raked in the pot and is now up to 14,500.
