Lindgren's Self-Critique

David Williams and Erick Lindgren just made it to the river in a limit hand. On a board of {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Williams checked, Lindgren bet, and Williams check-raised.

"Ah, I'm an idiot!" cried Lindgren as he made the crying call. Williams showed queens, and Lindgren mucked.

Williams has approximately 120,000 and Lindgren around 70,000.

Fight Club

Preflop David Olson raised, Roland de Wolfe reraised from the big blind, and Olson called. The flop came a coordinated {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. De Wolfe bet and Olson called. The turn was the {3-Clubs}. De Wolfe bet, Olson raised, and de Wolfe called. The river was the {A-Clubs}. De Wolfe bet, and Olson just called.

De Wolfe showed {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} for the nuts, and Olson mucked. De Wolfe is up to 151,500, while Olson has fallen to 40,000.

Eskandani Holding Steady

Mori Eskandani
Mori Eskandani
Among the 41 players remaining in the field, one finds Mori Eskandani, creator and producer of popular poker television programs like High Stakes Poker, Poker After Dark, and the NBC National Heads-Up Championship.

Eskandani has been folding a lot of hands lately as we approach the money bubble. (We're five players away.) The latest count shows Eskandani right in the middle of the pack with 55,000.

You can read my partner Steve Horton's PokerNews interview with Eskandani here.

Wrong River for Wong

Before the flop, Danny Wong raised from middle position to 4,400, Ariel Schneller reraised to 16,500, and Wong called.

Wong checked the flop of {6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Schneller bet 16,000, Wong check-raised all in for about 40,000, and Schneller made the call.

Both players had flopped top pair, but Wong's {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} had him just ahead of Schneller's {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. The {3-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing, but the {9-Diamonds} on the river gave the hand to Schneller. Wong is out, and Schneller is up to 226,000.
