Ho Headed Home

Maria Ho
Maria Ho
Maria Ho has been eliminated from our tournament after she put all her chips in the pot when the board read {3-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {7-Clubs} and she had {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. Her opponent called with {K-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} and hit the {8-Clubs} on the turn to make the flush and send Ho home.

Stout Looking for Diamonds

Matt "Allinat420" Stout started things with a raise to 3,000. A player further down the line reraised all in for a total of 10,200, and Stout made the call. He showed down {Q-Diamonds} {10-Spades} and was in bad shape versus the {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} of his opponent.

The flop brought some drama though, as it came {9-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. The turn paired the board with the {9-Spades} and took a few outs away from Stout. He didn't need those outs though, as he found a fourth diamond on the river. The {3-Diamonds} gave him a flush to the queen and eliminated his opponent from the field.

Lee Leaves

Lee Watkinson has just been eliminated when his {8-Hearts} {8-Spades} ran into {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}. Watkinson was all in preflop, and he failed to hit any help on the board.

Miserable Mizzi

Mizzi in his happy place
Mizzi in his happy place
Sorel Mizzi was just scene walking off mumbling under his breath as he had just been eliminated.

Mizzi raised preflop to 1,600 and was called by a middle-position player and then reraised to 6,500 by a late-postion player. Mizzi then moved all in for his remaining 16,000 and was called by the late-position player.

The hands were turned over and Mizzi showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} against his opponent's {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

The flop came {J-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}, followed by the {A-Spades} on the turn giving Mizzi the lead, but the river spiked the {4-Hearts} and Mizzi was shell-shocked.

He stormed out of the Amazon room with a look of sheer rage on his face.

To Isolate is Human

Michael Skomac raises first in from under the gun, making it 1,650 to play. The small blind calls, and Bryan Devonshire shoves his last 4,825 in. Skomac reraises and successfully isolates himself against the all-in Devo. The cards are turned over, and Devo thanks Skomac for getting it heads up...

Devonshire: {10-Spades} {3-Spades}

The boards comes out {3-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. Devo doubles up with his tens and fours, and he now sits with 10,300. Skomac has dropped a tad to 44,500.

How to Lose a Race with Flair

From early position, a player opens for a raise to 2,200. Action comes around to Theo Tran in the small blind, and he reraises it to 6,800. Next to act is Peter Jepsen in the big blind, and he comes back over the top of both men with an all-in shove for 39,000. The original raiser folds, and Tran pauses for a moment before acting. As he makes the call and turns his {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} over, Tran asks, "You making a move?" Jepsen responds, "No," and shows down his hand: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}. The two men head off to the races for a big pot.

The flop is Yahtzee for Jepsen, as it comes down {5-Spades} {10-Spades} {6-Spades}. He flops the absolute nuts with the ace-high flush. The turn pairs the {5-Clubs} and gives Tran a few outs to redraw. The whole table sweats the river, as the dealer burns and turns...

{5-Hearts}

Tran catches lightning in a bottle, hitting runner-runner fives to make a full boat. Someone across the table can't contain himself: "Oh my god. That is dirty," he says as Tran drags down a pot worth more than 80,000 in chips. Jepsen, meanwhile, is crippled all the way down to a mere 2,000.

Peter Jepsen was all in shortly after that with {A-Spades} {3-Hearts}, and lost the rest of his chips to a caller with {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. He received a pat on the shoulder from his fans near the table, and made his way out of the room.
