Ten-Handed

With the last elimination, we have just ten player remaining. The two tables have been combined into one, and we'll play until a single player is eliminated, setting the final table for tomorrow.

Ivan Demidov Eliminated in 11th Place ($39,854)

Action on this hand folds around to the blinds, where Ivan Demidov is waiting. He moves all in with his short stack, holding {A-?} {4-?} offsuit. Alex Bolotin is waiting for him though, and he snap-calls from the big blind, tabling {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}.

Demidov is all in and at risk of being knocked out. The board brings a little sweat, but no salvation, coming out {3-Clubs} {2-Spades} {7-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}. Bolotin does the deed, eliminating Ivan Demidov in 11th place. For his efforts, Demidov will pocket nearly $40,000.

The Danish Are Coming

For several hours now, the Danish supporters have been here on the rail, sweating their two countrymen who are approaching the final table. The crew is watching the action intently, occasionally breaking into coordinated cheers and yells in their own language. Rene Mouritsen and Albert Iversen certainly seem to appreciate the support. Between hands, they stand up and come to the rail to chat with their buddies. Some 45 minutes later, they are still talking about that "kongen med oeksen."

Kohlberg Doubles Up

Curtis Kohlberg just doubled up through Phung Ngo. Kohlberg shoved all in preflop with pocket aces and Ngo called with pocket fives.

The board blanked off and Kohlberg stacked the pot. Kohlberg has 380,000.

Peter Feldman Eliminated in 12th Place ($39,854)

From under the gun, Peter Feldman moved in with {A-?} {10-?}. Two seats over, Max Greenwood woke up with {A-?} {K-?}, and he made the call, putting Feldman at risk of elimination and needing some help.

There was no help for him though, as the board ran out {J-?} {J-?} {7-?} {2-?} {K-?}. Peter Feldman heads off to the payout desk, where he will pick up a check for nearly $40,000. Not too shabby.

The action started when Eric Froehlich raised on the button with {7-Clubs} {8-Clubs}. He was reraised by Scott Freeman in the small blind with {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}. Froehlich, not knowing the strength of Freeman, then reraised back all in and was insta-called.

The board ran out {6-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {2-Spades} {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts} and Freeman raked the pot sending Froehlich to the rail.

King with the Axe!

Just before break, we witnessed a big pot at Table 61. We pick up the action on the flop in a heads-up battle between Rene Mouritsen and Curtis Kohlberg. The board shows {K-Spades} {6-Hearts} {3-Clubs}. Mouritsen checks, and Kohlberg bets 40,000. Mouritsen flat calls.

The turn is the {9-Hearts}. Once more, Mouritsen checks. Kohlberg bets again, this time 100,000. Mouritsen again calls.

The river comes the {6-Diamonds}, pairing the board. Mouritsen passes, and Kohlberg fires a third bullet, 200,000. Mouritsen calls.

Kohlberg: {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs}
Mouritsen: {K-Diamonds} {7-Spades}

As soon as he had tabled his hand, Mouritsen stood up and let out a yell. From the rail, his Danish counterparts broke out into a frenzy, screaming, "Kongen med oeksen!" or "King with the axe!" They tell us the king with the axe is their very favorite hand, and the loud Danish contingent was thrilled to see their buddy take down a big pot with it.

After dragging in that pot, Mouritsen crests the one-million milestone, sitting with 1,070,000. Kohlberg, meanwhile, is crippled down to just 80,000.
