Harmetz and Von Halle Chop One Up

Stud-8:

Jan Von Halle and Dan Harmetz just played a hand to the river only to chop the antes. There was a bet on every street but fourth and come showdown the men tabled:

Harmetz: ({4-Hearts}) ({4-Clubs}) {A-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {K-Spades} {6-Diamonds} ({7-Diamonds})
Von Halle: ({7-Spades}) ({5-Hearts}) {4-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {3-Spades} {2-Spades} ({4-Diamonds})

Both had a pair of fours but Harmetz's ace kicker was best. Von Halle took the low with his {7-?} {5-?} {4-?} {3-?} {2-?}.

"The Bear" Makes a Boat

Omaha-8:

Barry Greenstein raised from middle position and Shawn Sheikhan made it three bets to go from the small blind. Greenstein called and they went heads up to a flop of {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {6-Clubs}.

Sheikhan bet and Greenstein called. The turn came the {J-Diamonds} and Sheikhan fired again. This time Greenstein raised and Sheikhan smooth-called. The river was the {2-Clubs} and Sheikhan check-called Greenstein's bet.

Greenstein showed {A-Spades} {J-Spades} {J-Clubs} {4-Hearts} and Sheikhan mucked. As he folded Sheikhan gave Greenstein a surprised look and said, "You f*ckin' chased that Barry? G*d damn..." Greenstein seemed relatively unfazed as he stacked the chips.

Hold'em:

Aaron Katz raised all in from early position and Stephen Wolff called from early position. The rest of the table passed and the players showed:

Katz: {A-Hearts} {8-Spades}
Wolff: {A-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}

Katz was in a decent spot to double up, but came up short when the board ran out {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {4-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {A-Spades}. Wolff's two pair was best and Aaron Katz was just the second player eliminated from the event.

Ladies Good to Jan Von Halle

Hold'em:

Action folded around to Jan Von Halle in late position and he raised. Alex Kravchenko called from the button and the two took a flop. The flop came {K-Spades} {9-Spades} {6-Spades} and Von Halle bet. Kravchenko raised and Von Halle made the call.

The turn came the {5-Spades} and Von Halle bet again. This time Kravchenko just called. When the river fell the {8-Diamonds} the action was the same. Kravchenko called a Von Halle bet and was shown {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}. Kravchenko mucked and Von Halle is up to just under 70,000 chips.

"I Knew You Had Nothing!"

Stud:

David Chiu: (X-X) {4-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} (X)

Stephen Wolff: (X-X) {6-Clubs} {7-Spades} {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} (X)

Aaron Katz: (X-X) {J-Hearts} (?) (?)

Stephen Wolff brought it in on third street, David Chiu called and Aaron Katz called. On fourth street Chiu bet out and both players called. On fifth street Chiu led again, Katz folded and Wolff called. Chiu bet sixth and seventh street and was called down by Wolff.

Wolff rolled over {K-Spades} {10-Clubs} {4-Clubs}. His club draw missed, but he ended up catching trip kings.

"I knew you had nothing!" exclaimed Chiu as he mucked.

Rockets for Reslock

Hold'em:

We caught up this hand on the flop. David Williams, Chris Reslock, and Amnon Filippi were in the hand and the board showed {7-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {2-Spades}. Filippi was first to act and he checked. Williams checked behind and Reslock bet. Filippi raised, Williams folded, and Reslock reraised. Filippi called and they were heads up to the turn.

The turn came the {10-Hearts}. Filippi bet and got a quick call. The river fell the {7-Clubs}. Filippi check-called Reslock's bet and was shown {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}. Filippi mucked and Reslock stacked the pot.

Jeff Lisando Takes a Pot from Toto Leonidas

Omaha-8:

After a {3-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} flop Jeff Lisandro checked from the big blind and Toto Leonidas bet out. Lisandro called, and he also check-called on the turn when the {7-Clubs} fell. Both players chose to check when the {Q-Hearts} paired the board and Lisandro's {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {8-Spades} {6-Hearts} was good enough to get Toto to muck his hand and give the entire pot to Lisandro.
