Really, We're Back

We've been playing for nearly a half-hour now without any big confrontations, knockouts or double-ups. Though ESPN is filming the action right now which makes for crowded and slightly chaotic conditions for the players.

Daniel Negreanu Takes a Big Hit

Omaha-8:

Daniel Negreanu might not be able to enjoy the dinner hour after losing a big pot to Michael DeMichele right before the break. Negreanu was betting on every street and when DeMichele called on the river Negreanu said, "I have two pair and a really bad low".

"Really," DeMichele said, "I might scoop here." And he showed two pair (queens and jacks) and a 7-6 low to indeed scoop the pot. "Wow, and I bet that on the river," Negreanu said just before he left on break. When he returns, he'll find just 300,000 chips waiting for him.

Barry Bests Bueno

Barry just won a pot here, can't you tell?
Omaha-8:

Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey, and Patrick Bueno saw a {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} flop after going three bets preflop. Bueno and Ivey checked to Greenstein, who bet. Both players called. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}. The action checked to Greenstein again, he bet, Bueno called and Ivey folded. The river was the {K-Diamonds}. Bueno checked, Greenstein bet and Bueno called.

Greenstein turned up {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} for trip kings and scooped the pot.

"I knew you had A-K!" said Bueno as he flashed {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}.

After the hand, Greenstein was up to 950,000 while Bueno slipped to 520,000.

Ace High is Muy Bueno

Hold'em:

Phil Ivey raised from the cutoff and Patrick Bueno called from the big blind. The flop was {K-Clubs} {6-Spades} {4-Hearts}. Bueno checked, Ivey bet and Bueno called. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {5-Clubs} and they checked it down again.

Bueno turned up {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} for ace-high and Ivey mucked.

Joseph Michael Eliminated in 14th Place ($142,080)

Joseph Michael - 14th Place
Joseph Michael - 14th Place
Stud:

Joseph Michael was all in on sixth street against David Bach, with Michael showing {7-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} to Bach's {7-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {10-Spades}. Michael had {A-Spades} {6-Clubs} in the hole and needed some help to beat the {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} Bach held, but after Michael made two pair on seventh street when he caught the {4-Hearts}, Bach made a bigger two pair when he hit the {10-Clubs}. And with that Michael was eliminated in 14th place.

"Where is someone so I can get my money and get the (deleted) out of here," Michael said as he got up and left the table.

Negreanu On a Downswing

Lookin' for some cards
Lookin' for some cards
Daniel Negreanu has taken a 700,000 chip downswing after losing several pots in a row. The largest one was a stud hand against Raymond Davis where Davis made jacks full of threes. Since then, he's been playing a lot of small pots, but losing most of them and is down to 590,000.
