This Isn't Supposed to Be a Split-Pot Game

Playing hold'em, Minh Ly raised to 600 on the button and David Chiu called in the big blind. The flop came {K-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {5-Spades} and Chiu check-called Ly's 300 bet. The {10-Spades} turned, and both players checked. The {K-Spades} fell on the river and, again, both players checked.

"Ace-queen is good," Ly said.

"What?" Chiu said, and Ly turned over a counterfeited pair of fours. Both players laughed as Chiu showed {7-Hearts} {6-Hearts} for a chop.

"If I keep chopping pots with you," Ly said, "you'll end up winning the tournament."
