Nam Le Eliminated

A late arrival to today's event, Nam Le started the day short and couldn't get the cards to fall his way. Down to his last 525 in chips, Nam got it all in holding pocket sixes against Roscoe Derrod's pocket threes before the flop, but an {8-Diamonds}

board gave Derrod a set and subsequently ended Le's day.

Marc Seif Eliminated

Marc Seif was eliminated after running his pocket tens into an opponent's pocket jacks. The jacks held up for his opponent and Seif was sent to the rail.

Poker Attire

Some players bring good luck charms, which rest atop their chip stacks and protect their hands and chips from any bad 'mojo.' Some players wear certain socks that they feel have been lucky since high school. Others wear their favorite pair of sunglasses, or a particular hat they feel is perfect for a long day at the card table.

Today's event, however, appears to be the day of the sports gear. So far we've seen attire from 12 different baseball teams, Giants, Packers, Dolphins and Steelers jerseys, two hockey jerseys, two basketball jerseys (neither Celtics nor Lakers), and four different college jerseys.

Rain Makes Two

, Hevad "Rain" Khan called his opponent's bet of 200. The turn brought the {3-Spades}

and Hevad's opponent led out for 775. Hevad moved all in over the top. His opponent called, showing {7-Diamonds}

for a flush draw. The draw missed, and Khan's two pair was good enough to get him back up to 3,400.

'Hollywood' Dave Stann Doubles Up

"Hollywood" Dave Stann turned a set of jacks against his opponent who had flopped top two pair with {Q-Spades}

. All their chips went in the middle on the turn and Dave is up to 4,000 after his opponent failed to improve.

Esfandiari Short Stacked

Antonio Esfandiari called an all-in raise on a flop of {J-Diamonds}

while holding {K-Diamonds}

for a gutshot draw. His opponent held pocket queens, which held up and knocked Esfandiari down to just 900 in chips.

Misdealt for Three Hands

The cards provided by Kem for the World Series of Poker have very distinguishable backings which set them aside from any other event. They have a mostly solid white backing, with a thick red or black trim that lines the back of the card. Dealers alternate decks, using the 'red' deck and the 'black' deck evenly.

Players at Orange #9 were in for a bit of a surprise when a red-backed card appeared during one of their hands while using the black deck. Oddly enough, several hands have been dealt to these players using this 53-card deck.

The card was removed, replaced in its correct deck, and play has now begun at that table using the correct number of cards.

Early Elimination = No Real Loss

There have been two railbirds standing in front of media row, blocking much of the action taking place around the Amazon room. The guy they were sweating just busted out, walked up to them and says, "I didn't win one hand!"

"You're out already?" they asked.

"Yeah, got out-flushed. Couldn't win a hand."

"So you lost your buy-in just like that?"

"No, I had freerolled in. Won it all on craps last night."

Phan Gets Flushed

The action was checked to Young Phan, who bet 175 and was called by one opponent on a flop of {10-Hearts}

. Betting was intiated again by Phan as the turn came {8-Diamonds}

. Checks all round on a river of {Q-Hearts}

revealed that Phan's opponent had rivered a flush holding {J-Hearts}

and Phan mucked stating he had {Q-?}

and sheepishly replied, "I know you got it."
