Torbergsen Moving Chips

We pick up the action on the flop, with the board showing {K-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}. Phil Laak is first to act from the small blind, and he pushes out a bet of 1,000. Andreas Torbergsen calls from the big blind, and action comes around to Billy "The Croc" Argyros. He puts in a raise, making it 4,500 to play. Laak folds, but Torbergsen comes back over the top with a re-raise to 19,200. That'll do it; Argyros ducks out and Torbergsen takes down a nice pot without contest.

Giddyup!

Hoyt Corkins and another player just got all their money in on the flop in a heads-up pot. Corkins was covered and at risk of elimination. At the end of the hand, the board showed {7-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds}.

Corkins tabled {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {2-Hearts}, having flopped middle set. He was behind the whole way though. His opponent showed down {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {5-Spades}, and his top set was enough to take down the pot and send the cowboy riding off into the sunset.

Wahlroos Doubles

Thomas Wahlroos recently doubled up after he flopped the nut flush. One opponent held top set and got all of his chips in, but the board never paired. Wahlroos' flush held and now he is at 47,000.

Clements Takes a Hit

We caught up with this hand on the turn. The pot was somewhat small and the board was {3-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}. Scott Clements' opponent made a bet which Clements quickly raised. His opponent reraised all in and Clements called.

Clements: {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {2-Hearts} {7-Clubs}
Opponent: {3-Clubs} {3-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}

Clements was dead to the case ace, with his opponent showing quad threes. The river was a harmless {8-Clubs}.

Clements dips to 22,000.

Erik Seidel Eliminated

Three people limped into the pot in front of Erik Seidel's small blind. He completed, only to have Jannick Wrang in the big blind raise to 2,000. That raise folded everyone back to Seidel, who reraised to 10,000. Wrang put in a third raise to 28,000, enough to put Seidel all in. He made the call.

Seidel: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Wrang: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {5-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} to make a king-high straight for Wrang, better than Seidel's unimproved aces. Wrang chips up to 81,000.

It Was Worth a Shot

On a board of {4-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts} in a pot that was limped preflop, Barry Shulman and Robert Williamson III were the only players remaining at the river. Williamson bet 1,750 and Shulman made the call.

"I've got nothing," said Williamson. "Well, fives!" He laughed. Shulman opened {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} to take the pot.

Toto Doubles One Up

A player in the cutoff raised first-in, making it 1,950 to play. Toto Leonidas is in the small blind, and he reraises to 7,050. His opponent calls, and it's heads up to the flop.

The dealer spreads out {K-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}. Leonidas bets 13,750, and his opponent makes the call all in. The turn and river come {4-Clubs}, {Q-Spades}, with no further action on either street.

Leonidas: {J-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Spades}

Toto can't make a winning hand, and he ships a big chunk of his stack across the table. He has dropped down a few notches, and now sits with 45,000.

Redeem Those Redbirds

Now that we have hit the end of Level 3, all players that still retain their red rebuy chips are automatically forced to surrender the chip in exchange for an extra 10,000 tournament chips. There is no option not to take the chips.

Two Birds with One Nygaard

Vegard Nygaard was responsible for two of those recent notable eliminations mentioned a few minutes ago, and both in the same hand.

He, Mike Matusow, and Gavin Smith were tangled up in a three-way pot. Matusow and Smith both got all their remaining chips in on the flop. The board ended up reading {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {K-Clubs}.

Nygaard: {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs}
Matusow: {A-Spades} {8-Spades} {7-Clubs} {2-?}
Smith: {A-?} {7-Hearts} {5-?} {2-Hearts}

Nygaard made a big flush on the turn, and he took down the pot, eliminating the other two pros from the field.
