You Do the Math

We've lost almost 1,100 players in just over three and a half hours. That is roughly 5 players per minute, or one player every 12 seconds.

To put that into perspective, if that elimination rate could be sustained throughout the entire event, we would have a winner in just under nine hours.

Roland de Wolfe Rewarded

From the cutoff Roland de Wolfe raised and the player in the big blind moved all in for 2,250. De Wolfe thought a good bit before making the call, and found that thought process had been sound--his {5-Diamonds} {5-Spades} were ahead of his opponent's {2-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}, and when a third duck didn't land on the felt de Wolfe took down a pot that boosted his stack to 20,500.

Tom Schneider Eliminated

Tom Schneider - Eliminated
Tom Schneider - Eliminated
There will be no sixth cash for Tom Schneider in today's event. The Donkey Bomber was just bounced from the tournament when he got it all in holding {K-?} {Q-?} against the {9-?} {9-?} of his opponent. The money went in before the flop and Schneider missed the board completely.

A Double Up for the Devilfish

David "Devilfish" Ulliott
David "Devilfish" Ulliott
A player raised to 600 from under the gun. Action folded to David "Devilfish" Ulliott in late position and he reraised to 2,400. The under-the-gun player called and they took a flop heads up.

The flop came {10-Spades} {7-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}. Ulliott's opponent moved all in and he made the call. The players showed:

Ulliott: {J-Spades} {J-Hearts}
Opponent: {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}

The turn fell the {J-Clubs}, giving Ulliott the win. The river was the meaningless {8-Clubs} and Ulliott stacked the pot. He chipped up to about 9,000 on the hand.

Joe Awada Eliminated

Joe Awada - Eliminated
We caught up to this hand on the turn. With the board reading {A-Spades} {10-Hearts} {5-Spades} {10-Clubs} Joe Awada found himself all in against a single opponent. The players showed:

Awada: {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts}
Opponent: {5-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}

The river came the {8-Spades} and "Gentle Joe" headed for the exit.

A Step Slow

Bryan Devonshire lost a chunk of his stack when he raised to 525 and called another player's 2,350 all-in. Devonshire held {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades} to his opponent's {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}, but when the board ran out {10-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} his opponent had a flush and took the pot.

"Wow, I'm really bad at racin'," Devonshire said, and he now sits with 8,000 chips.

Andy Black Eliminated

Action folded around to the small blind, who limped in. Andy Black checked his big blind option.

The flop came {5-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {2-Hearts} and the small blind check-called Black's bet of 200. The turn fell the {6-Spades} and again the small blind checked. Black bet 350. His opponent raised to 1,100 and Black moved all in for 1,200. The small blind quickly called and the players showed:

Black: {Q-Hearts} {3-Clubs}
Opponent: {7-Spades} {8-Diamonds}

Black's six-high straight was no good against his opponent's eight-high straight. The river fell the {9-Spades} and Black headed for the rail.

Pescatori: {8-Clubs} {7-Clubs}
Opponent: {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades}

Max had his opponent drawing dead and the meaningless {K-Spades} hit the river. Pescatori now works with a stack of about 7,000.

Young Phan Quadruples Up

Young Phan
Young Phan
A very short-stacked Young Phan got the last of his chips in against three other players. The players showed:

Phan: {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs}
Opponent 1: {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
Opponent 2: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}
Opponent 3: {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}

Phan was in very bad shape but managed to come away unscatched on the {5-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {5-Diamonds} board. The player with the aces took down a big side pot but Phan quadrupled up to 2,600 chips.
