Danzer Makes a Solid Call

Pot-limit Omaha:

George Danzer was faced with a tough decision on the river of a board that read {A-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {K-Spades}. The bet was for 8,000 into a pretty sizable pot and caused Danzer to tank for a few minutes as he thought things out. Eventually, he made the call with J-9-x-x and his opponent showed 7-6-4-3 for just a pair of sevens.

Danzer is now up to 35,000 after a solid call.

Where You Going, Phil?

Phil Ivey was just seen running from his table out of the Amazon Room. In the process, he nearly trampled a chip runner, which would have resulted in spilling chips everywhere. He wasn't done there. In an effort to miss as few hands as possible, Ivey came running back into the room as well, over knocking over a few field reporters this time. I suppose he does have enough money to pay for any damages he may cause.

Phil Hellmuth Eliminated

Pot-limit Omaha:

What a lineup we have over at table one. In this hand, an under-the-gun player raised to 900. Barry Greenstein called from the cutoff, Andy Bloch called from the button, and Phil Hellmuth called from the big blind.

Flop: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Hellmuth checked and the under-the-gun player bet out. Greenstein and Bloch folded and then Hellmuth raised all in. His opponent called.

Hellmuth: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Opponent: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

Hellmuth had a straight draw and the nut flush draw, but even when the turn heldped him with the {A-Clubs}, the river blanked with the {8-Clubs} and Hellmuth was sent from the deadly table to the rail in his always-gracious fashion.

Johnston Takes Over Schulman

Pot-limit Omaha:

Nick Schulman checked from the big blind and Berry Johnston bet on a {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop. Schulman called.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Schulman again checked. Johnston tossed out a 5,000 chip and left himself with 9,000 behind. Schulman again called.

The river came the {4-Diamonds} and the play went check, check from both players.

Johnston showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for top two pair and Schulman mucked.

Johnston increased to 22,000 and Schulman dropped to 16,000.
