My Favorite Hand

Kido Pham just cracked an opponent's pocket kings with {A-Hearts} {8-Hearts}. The other player made a set but it was no good against Pham's flush. He doubles up to 235,000 thanks to his favorite hand.

Presto! Matusow Wins a Race

Mike Matusow called down an opponent's preflop all-in for 73,000 in chips. Matusow held {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}, and his opponent was at risk of elimination with his {5-?} {5-?}.

The board ran out {A-?} {Q-?} {7-?} {A-?} {3-?}, and Matusow won the race to knock out another player. He has chipped up to a respectable 485,000.

From Penthouse to Outhouse -- Richardson Eliminated

First, on a flop of {K-Spades} {7-Spades} {10-Spades}, Adam Richardson called an all-in bet from another opponent. Richardson held {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} and his opponent held {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}. No help came on the turn or river, and Richardson ended up with only 19,000 remaining after the hand.

Next, Richardson moved all in preflop against an opponent in the small blind and was called. Richardson held {Q-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} and his opponent held {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}. A turn ace left Richardson drawing dead and Richardson is eliminated from the Main Event.

Brandon Adams moved all in from under the gun for 24,000. Small blind, Peter Hedlund, then moved all in for 81,000. The big blind, Jan Heitmann called both players.

Heitmann: {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}
Hedlund: {A-Spades} {10-Spades}
Adams: {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts}

"Sweet," said Adams when he saw he held the best hand going in.

The board ran out {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} and that was it for Adams.

Men "The Master" Hits Disaster

Men "The Master" Nguyen
Men "The Master" Nguyen
From late position, Frank Russo opened the pot with a raise to 21,000. Men "The Master" Nguyen was in the cutoff seat, and he moved all in for 30,000. Russo was the only caller. With his tournament life on the line, The Master tabled {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}. Russo turned over {3-Spades} {5-Diamonds}, prompting Nguyen to prod, "I caught you with your pants down." Russo came back with a comment about this being their 11th face-off so far, and added, "I'm 11-for-11."

The flop came down {3-Clubs} {2-Spades} {K-Clubs}, giving Russo a little glimmer of hope. The turn came through for him, as the {3-Hearts} peeled off, making him triple threes. The river was a meaningless {7-Clubs}, and The Master has been eliminated.

As he and Russo stood up, Men said, "I won't even shake your hand, man." The two men had been scuffling all day, and Men offered one parting shot as he left the table: "That's why they beat me. Three-five offsuit." Shaking his head, he made his way to the payout desk. Men has been alternating between beaming smiles and piercing frowns today, and at least now he doesn't have to deal with his frustrating tablemates anymore.

Adams is Crippled

Brandon Adams raised to 12,000 from the cutoff and Greg Peters called from the big blind.

The flop came {J-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {8-Spades} and Peters checked. Adams bet 20,000 and then Peters raised all in for 64,000 and Adams made the call.

Adams: {J-Clubs} {5-Clubs}
Peters: {J-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}

The turn came the {4-Hearts} and the river the {9-Hearts} to crippled Adams to 25,000.

After the hand, Adams did order two more Coronas with limes.
