Tough Turn for Buonano

It folded around to Suresh Prabhu who completed from the small blind. Then Derek Buonano raised it to 23,000 from the big blind. Prabhu called. The flop came {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Prabhu checked, Buonano bet 31,000, Prabhu check-raised to 72,000, Buonano reraised to 172,000, and Prabhu pushed all in for a total of 408,000.

Buonano thought for a long while. "Did you limp with a monster?" he asked. "I have an overpair." Prabhu wasn't saying. "Have you got a flush draw with the ace-jack of spades?" Still, no info.

Finally, Buonano called. Buonano didn't have an overpair actually -- he had {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nines. And Prabhu did have a flush draw -- he had {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}.

The {Q-Clubs} came on the turn, giving Prabhu the lead. The river was the {A-Hearts}, and Buonano was knocked down to 120,000. Prabhu moved up to 900,000.

Shortly thereafter, Buonano pushed with ace-jack and was called by Manuel Bevant who had pocket tens. Bevant's tens held up, and Buonano is out. Bevant now has 300,000.
