Just took a look over on the far side of the Brasilia room where today's event is playing out. It appears our final count for entrants is 455, although we still await an official announcement of that total.

Jamie Pickering -- 28,000
Terrence Chan -- 5,100
Michael Mizrachi -- 10,500
Andy Bloch -- 18,250

Khan Says "That's a Wrap"

Hevad Khan
Hevad Khan
Hevad Khan just eliminated an opponent. There had been some betting both preflop and on the {2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop in a PLO hand, resulting in the opponent getting all of his chips in the middle with {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts} versus Khan's {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds}, but the {5-Diamonds} on the river gave Khan the straight and the hand. Khan now has about 10,000.

Some for Somerville

In a PLO hand, Jason Somerville raised to 250 and Victor Ramdin called. The flop came {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Somerville bet 350, and Ramdin made the call. The turn brought the {6-Hearts}. Somerville checked, Ramdin bet 1,100, and Somerville called. Both checked the {10-Spades} on the end.

Somerville showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for just a pair of queens, and Ramdin mucked. Somerville now has 10,300, while Ramdin slips to 4,300.

Gotta Give Him Credit (and Chips)

In a pot-limit Omaha hand, David "Chino" Rheem bet 1,000 on a board of {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and his opponent raised him to 3,000.

Rheem went into the tank. "Did you get there on the river? Nines full?" Finally he tossed out the chips to call, and his opponent showed {8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for eights full of nines.

"Good hand," Rheem nodded. He now has about 9,000.

Viva le Vivek

Some preflop action in this PLH hand had already built up a pot when the flop came {4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}. An early position player checked, and Vivek Rajkumar made a hefty bet of 9,250. The third player in the hand called, then the early position player folded, showing pocket jacks as he did.

"Pure gambling," said the late position player as he turned over {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Followed by "Awwww!" as he saw Rajkumar's hand -- {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. The {2-Hearts} came on the turn, giving Rajkumar the higher flush and making the river inconsequential.

After eliminating that player and claiming that nice-sized pot, Rajkumar is now up over 20,000 in chips.

Freerollin' Force

In a PLO hand, a player in early position checked a {K-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop. Andy Black then bet 525, and both Leif Force and the EP player called. The turn was the {2-Hearts}. The early position player bet 2,100, Black folded, and Force called with his remaining chips.

The EP player showed {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Force {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}-x-x. Both had top pair, but Force's opponent had a couple of flush draws and a straight draw to go with it. And the {2-Diamonds} on the river meant the Force had been stopped.
