Tripling Paul Parker

Omaha

Paul Parker was all in for his last 30,000 on a flop showing {Q-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}. He was called by both Bjorn Verbakel and Jonathan Tamayo, both of whom had wrap draws. Parker tabled {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {8-Spades} {9-Hearts} for the leading two pair.

The turn brought the {K-Clubs}, locking up the pot for Parker with his full book. The river blanked off ({3-Diamonds}), and Paul Parker has tripled his way back up to 100,000.

Ingles Eliminated in 38th

Omaha

Jared Ingles raised to 5,000 from late position, and Ben Grundy called from the big blind. The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Spades}. Grundy bet the pot, Ingles raised all in, and Grundy called.

Grundy showed {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and Ingles {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river the {A-Clubs}, and Grundy's hand was best. Ingles is out in 38th place.

Seth Out in 40th

Omaha

We caught up with this one on the flop -- {6-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} -- after all of the money had made it into the middle.

Cornel Cimpan had Andy Seth well covered. Both players had a set of jacks -- Cimpan had {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Seth {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{5-Spades}. The turn was the {4-Clubs}, and Seth's kicker was still best. But the {8-Spades} on the river gave Cimpan the full house, knocking Seth out in 40th.

Kings Crack Aces

Hold'em

Jan Sorensen raised to 5,000, Bjorn Verbakel raised to 18,000, Sorensen reraised all in for 47,000 total, and Verbakel called.

Sorensen showed {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and Verbakel {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

The flop and turn changed nothing -- {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}. But the {K-Hearts} popped out on the river, giving Verbakel the pot and ousting Sorensen in 41st.

Verbakel is up to 150,000.

It's Always Funner...

Hold'em

Under the gun, Amnon Filippi kicked things off with a raise to 5,000. In the next seat, Tony Cousineau reraised to 18,000, and Bjorn Verbakel made a small four-bet to 33,000. Filippi folded, but Cousineau called all in for his remaining 26,600.

Showdown
Cousineau: {J-Spades} {J-Clubs}
Verbakel: {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}

The news was pretty bad for Cousineau, but things would get better. The flop was pretty dry, coming {7-Spades} {9-Spades} {2-Clubs} and leaving Cousineau drawing to runner-runner. He found the first runner when the {10-Clubs} hit the turn. And sure enough, the {8-Spades} spiked the board on fifth street, making Cousineau the come-from-way-behind straight.

He's doubled his way up to 62,000, leaving Verbakel under 100,000 for the first time in hours.

Omaha

From early position, Amnon Filippi opened with a raise to 5,000. Next door, Daniel Negreanu called the raise, but Alfredo Vega wanted to play for more. He made it 21,200 straight, enough to fold Filippi; Negreanu came along to the flop.

It showed up {9-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {3-Spades}, and Negreanu fired his final 41,500 chips at the pot. Vega went into the tank for a solid three minutes before making the call.

Showdown
Vega: {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {3-Clubs} {4-Spades}
Negreanu: {10-Spades} {7-Spades} {8-Hearts} {K-Clubs}

Vega was leading with his overpair, but Negreanu had a wrap draw. Unfortunately for Kid Poker, the turn and river bricked off with a queen and a four, shipping the pot to Vega. After the chips were counted down, it was Vega who had been at-risk, having Negreanu covered by just 3,000.

Kid Poker lasted just one hand after that crippling, though he didn't seem too terribly bothered by his 43rd-place bustout. He practically jogged out of the room toward his seat in Event #12, not bothering to stop by the payout desk on the way. "I don't need the money..." was the last thing we heard from him as he chuckled and made his exit.

Lehmann Out in 44th

Omaha

On a flop of {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, Jeff Littlefield checked, Markus Lehmann pushed all in, and Littlefield called.

Littlefield showed {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for flush and straight draws (and a pair of eights), and Lehmann {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} for a wing and a prayer. The turn was the {A-Clubs} and the river the {5-Diamonds}, giving Littlefield the flush. Lehmann is out in 44th.
