PLO Kind to Alaei

Pot-limit Omaha:

A middle position player raised to 400, Daniel Alaei called from the button and Michael Binger called from the small blind. The flop was {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {3-Clubs}. Binger checked to the MP player, who bet 1,000. Alaei called and Binger folded. Both players checked the {4-Spades} on the turn. The river was the {7-Clubs} and the MP player check-called 2,600 from Alaei.

Alaei turned up {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} for a jack-high straight and picked up the pot.

Richey Gets Richer

No-Limit Hold'em:

Tim Phan opened for 425 from middle position, Brett Richey three-bet to 1,425 from late position and Phan called.

The flop was {6-Spades} {5-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} and Phan check-called a 2,500 bet from Richey. The turn was the {A-Spades} and Phan check-called an additional 3,600. The river fell the {6-Spades} and Phan checked a third time. Richey fired out 11,000 and Phan folded.

After the hand, Richey was up to 38,000 while Phan's stack slipped to 24,000.

Trip Aces No Good

Stud-8:

Katja Thater, John Hennigan and James Mackey were involved in a hand with boards as follows:

Thater: {4-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {9-?}
Henningan: {5-Spades} {8-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {9-?}
Mackey: {6-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {3-Hearts}

Thater bet out on 3rd and Henningan raised with Mackey and Thater both calling. On 4th Henningan bet again after both players checked but was called once more.

On 5th, Thater checked her Ace, Henningan bet and Mackey folded. Thater though called and continued to call bets on 6th and 7th.

Henningan flipped {2-?} {6-?} {7-?} for a 9-high straight and a 7-6-5-4-2 low. Thater lifted her cards high enough for me to see she had {A-?} {A-?} {7-?} in the whole. Trip aces but no low meant Henningan scooped.

Tare Takes His Time to Reveal the Nuts

Jonathan Tare
Jonathan Tare
Pot-limit Omaha:

Five players limped in, including Jonathan Tare, Erick Lindgren, and Josh Arieh. The small blind raised to 400, the big blind folded and all six limpers called.

The {10-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {7-Hearts} flop was checked around. The turn was the {J-Hearts} and the small blind led out for 1,500. Tare called from UTG and the rest of the table folded. The river was the {A-Clubs} and the small blind led again for 2,000. Tare picked up a 5,000-denomination chip and twirled it around for a bit before announcing a raise to 7,000. The small blind called.

Tare first revealed the {K-Hearts} ... then the {8-Hearts} ... and finally the {9-Hearts} for the straight flush. The pace and the order in which Tare flipped over his hole cards did not please his opponent one bit, the man expressing his desire to either return the favor or bust Tare if he got the opportunity.

Seed And Rheem Chop

Stud-8:

We join the action in this three way pot on fifth street.

Chino Rheem: {4-Hearts} {5-Spades} {6-Clubs} {9-Hearts}
Patrick Bueno: {4-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {8-Spades}
Huck Seed: {4-Spades} {3-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}

Bueno checked, Seed bet 600 and Rheem raised to 1200, Bueno folded and Seed made the call. On 6th Rheem led for 600 and now Seed raised, Rheem making the call before calling another bet on 7th.

Seed turned over {6-Spades} {3-Spades} {9-Diamonds} for a Six-high straight and a 6-5-4-3-2 low. Rheem flipped {8-Clubs} {7-Spades} {Q-Spades} for a Nine-high straight and a 8-7-6-5-4 low.

Chop it up gentlemen...

I Got It Baby!

PLO:

Scotty Nguyen raises to 450 UTG, the button calls and the big blind does too.

The flop is {9-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {7-Hearts} and it's checked to Nguyen who bets 1,000. Matusow makes it 2,400 and the big blind folds. Nguyen raises to 4,800 and Matusow makes the call.

On the {6-Hearts} turn, Nguyen bets 5,400 and Matusow folds what he claims was {A-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {8-?} {8-?}. Nguyen shows him {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {8-Clubs}.

Daniel Alaei Eliminated

Daniel  Alaei
Daniel Alaei
Pot-Limit Omaha:

Daniel Alaei made it 300 to go from UTG, a middle position player reraised to 900, Victor Ramdin flat-called and Alaei called as well.

The flop was {8-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {3-Hearts}. Alaei checked, the MP player bet 2,000, Ramdin called and Alaei called. The turn was the {2-Clubs} and Alaei led out for 8,925. The MP player moved all in, Ramdin folded and Alaei called.

Alaei {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}
MP Player {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts}

Alaei wasn't in very good shape, his pair of queens with a flush draw completely dominated by his opponent's pair of aces and a higher flush draw in the same suit. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Alaei hit the rail, shortly before the conclusion of the second level.

Arieh bet, the EP player called and Taylor folded. On the third draw Arieh was pat again and the EP player drew one. Arieh bet and his opponent called.

Arieh turned up 8-6-4-3-2 and took down the pot. He's up to 48,000.
