Quarters For Katja And Mig.Com

Omaha-8:

On the turn of a {K-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {4-Clubs} board, Katja Thater bets 800 and gets called by the player to her left as will as James Mackey in the big blind.

The river is the {Q-Hearts} and it's checked to Thater again who bets 800 once more. Both players call.

Mackey: {2-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {8-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Thater: {2-Hearts} {2-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}
Third Seat: {A-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {5-Hearts}

Mackey and Thater chop the low with 2-3 and each have a pair, but neither is good enough to win the high which goes to the third seat's top two pair.

PearlJammer Out Of Tune

Omaha-8:

Jon Turner got scooped on by Kirill Gerasimov, Gerasimov limp-called preflop and they saw a {5-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} flop and Gerasimov check-call a bet. Both players checked the {5-Diamonds} turn before Gerasimov led on the {2-Spades} river. Turner made the call but mucked when he was shown {A-Spades} {3-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Clubs} for trip fives with the nut low.

Boatman Flushes Pescatori

Stud:

Seat 1 (X) (X) {Q-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} (X)
Max Pescatori (X) (X) {Q-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs} (X)
Barny Boatman (X) (X) {5-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {3-Spades} {A-Spades} (X)

We picked the hand up on fourth street, the player in Seat 1 leading out with an ace showing. Max Pescatori called, Barny Boatman raised, and both players called. On fifth Seat 1 led again and both Pescatori and Boatman called. Boatman made the high board on sixth street and bet out, earning two calls. On seventh, Pescatori bet, Seat 1 folded and Boatman called.

Pescatori turned up {J-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} for a straight, but Boatman had him beat with {J-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {2-Hearts} for a flush.

Madsen Running Good

Madsen's Cup Currently Runneth Over.
Madsen's Cup Currently Runneth Over.
Jeff Madsen has been doing very well so far, here's a couple of hands. First in Omaha-8 he showed {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} for the second nut low plus a full house on a {2-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {7-Spades} board to scoop.

Then,

Razz:

Madsen completes showing a {4-Hearts}, gets reraised by another {4-Diamonds} and 3-bets and is called.

Madsen: {4-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {K-Spades} {5-Clubs}
Other player: {4-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}

On 4th street, Madsen bet and was called before getting another bet out of fifth street.

At this point the floor had to be called because the dealer had accidently dealt one burn card too many. The dealer was told to deal the next street without a burn card and Madsen bet his 6th street board getting his opponent to fold.

Madsen flashed {6-?} {2-?} not to the table, but to our eagle-eyed reporter.

Thayer Rasmussen Doubles

Thayer Rasmussen is unfortunately not faring too well in the early levels here, but did manage to double up against Nikolay Evdakov on a stud hand with kings and tens against Evdakov's pair of deuces. He's now on 6,700 in chips.

Seiver Relived

No Limit:

Freddy Deeb has been knocked out during the No Limit Hold'Em round of the mixed game. There was a raise to 500 and Deeb flat-called from the cutoff, Scott Seiver made it 3,500 from the button and the original raiser folded. Deeb, after some deliberation moved all in and Seiver sighed.

Seiver made the call and flipped {A-Spades} {8-Diamonds}, Deeb turned over {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} and Seiver looked sad and said, "Awww, really Freddy?"

But the cards went the other way and Deeb was eliminated after a {8-Spades} {9-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {7-Clubs} board.

Taylor Doubles Through Vos

Esther Taylor has doubled through Mark Vos after a handily timed set-over-set encounter.

The flop was {A-Clubs} {K-Spades} {6-Clubs} and Taylor flipped {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {5-Spades} to Vos' {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}. Vos needed the case King or running {J-?} {10-?} to win but couldn't manage it when the turn and river came {8-Diamonds} and {7-Spades}.

Vos is down to 8,800 and Taylor back up to 24,400.

Negreanu Near The Top

PLO:

On the river of a {2-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {5-Spades} board, Daniel Negreanu bets 19,200 from the small blind and gets a call from the big blind. Negreanu flips {K-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} for the nuts.

He's on 78,000 now.
