Quads Are Tough to Beat

On a board of {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{A-Spades}, Christian Iacobellis check-raised his opponent all in for an additional 99,000 after an initial bet of 80,000. Iacobellis got the call and happily tabled {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for quads while his opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for two pair.

Even more cruel, the river brought the {A-Hearts}, giving the loser a full house.

Iacobellis is now sitting on a stack of more than 400,000.

Illingworth Plays the Rush

Danny Illingworth has gone on a nice little rush, eliminating two players and surging towards the chip lead.

The first hand saw Illingworth flat call the check-raise of Calixto Clemenceau on a flop of {A-?}{9-?}{4-?}. On the {Q-?} turn, Clemenceau shoved all in and Illingworth insta-called with pocket aces to have Clemenceau drawing dead with his {Q-?}{J-?}.

A few moments later, Illingworth won a preflop race with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against a short stack's {A-?}{Q-?} when the board ran out {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Illingworth eliminates another on his way to a stack of 500,000.

Heimiller Busts as Inselberg Fights On

Dan Heimiller Eliminated
Dan Heimiller Eliminated
Let the gambling commence! Now that we are safely in the money, the short stacks are looking to double up or die trying. David Inselberg moved all in from late position for 14,500 before Dan Heimiller moved in over the top for 43,500 in total. Kevin Boudreau then decided to call both players from the small blind and the cards were tabled.

Boudreau: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Heimiller: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Inselberg: {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The flop was great to Boudreau, as it fell {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} to give him a set but the {Q-Hearts} on the turn gave Inselberg a straight! The river brought the {8-Diamonds} and incredibly the short-stacked fight of Inselberg continues as he triples up while Heimiller is left to head for the cashier.

Farmer Bursts the Bubble

The bubble has finally burst and the man with the unwanted tag of "bubble boy" is Shawn Farmer. After the big blind came around and ate him up, he was left with only 100 chips and tossed them into the pot after the button raised.

Button: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Farmer: {K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and the pair of tens held up to eliminate Farmer from the tournament empty-handed, as the remaining 63 players pull out their cell phones in unison to message their friends and family of the good news - they are all $10,159 richer!

Medic and Seidel Go to War

Nenad Medic limped into the pot from middle position and got raised to 11,000 by Erik Seidel in the small blind. Medic reraised to 35,000 and Seidel called, taking us to a flop of {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Seidel led out for 55,000 and Medic shoved all in, forcing Seidel to fold.

Medic now has a stack of 267,000 while Seidel has slipped back to 137,000.

Slaubaugh Doubles

Cody Slaubaugh tried his best to burst the bubble and end hand-for-hand play.

He shoved preflop and got called by a player holding {A-?}{J-?}, which was way behind his {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. When the board came {K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, Slaubaugh doubled to 110,000.

Hand for Hand

We are down to 64 players, meaning the bubble will bust with the next elimination. Play has now gone hand-for-hand until we reach the money.
