Ho Hoses One Away

Maria Ho opened from under the gun to 600 and found two callers from late position and the cutoff.

The flop fell down {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Ho's continuation bet of 1,500 was raised to 4,000 by her late position opponent as the cutoff mucked. Ho went into the tank before making the call and checking the {6-Diamonds} on the turn.

Her opponent slid the last of her 5,000 chips into the middle and Ho made the call.

Ho: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

With Ho well in front, things would remain that way when the {J-Spades} peeled on the river to see Ho eliminate an opponent while chipping up to 33,000 and change.

Wroblewski Soars to 17,000 Before the Break

Anna Wroblewski
Anna Wroblewski
The following hand took place just before the break, after Anna Wroblewski had already taken down two consecutive pots at her table:

Playing the rush, Wroblewski opened with a raise to 400 and action folded around to an opponent in Seat 7 who reraised to 1,400. Wroblewski made the call and the two went heads-up to the {3-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop.

Anna checked, and her opponent fired a continuation bet worth 1,000; Anna called.

The {3-Spades} fell on the turn and Anna checked once more, prompting her opponent to fire again -- this time making it 2,000 to go. Anna then put in a raise to 5,100 and her opponent moved all in for a total of 5,900. Anna made the call and the cards were revealed:

Wroblewski: {K-Spades} {2-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}

5th Street brought the {6-Spades} giving Anna a king-high flush to eliminate her opponent and stack up right around 17,000 in chips heading into the break.

Mayrinck Eliminates Opponent

Mayrinck starting the level strong
Mayrinck starting the level strong
Maridu Mayrinck opened from the cutoff to 800 and with the action on the small blind, she moved all in for 1,350 with Mayrinck making the call.

Mayrinck: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Mayrinck was looking at doubling her opponent up with the board reading {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. When the {J-Clubs} landed on the river, however, Mayrinck took the pot to move to over 20,000 while sending her opponent to the rail.

Alya Chips Belong to Me

Alya Nazarali is up to 17,000 in chips after a recent big hand:

Nazarali led out with a bet of 1,000 after the flop came {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}; her only opponent made the call.

When the {3-Clubs} fell on the turn, Nazarali checked-raised her opponent's 2,000 bet, making it an additional 2,000 to go. Her opponent called.

The river brought the {K-Diamonds} and Nazarali's all-in bet of 1,025 was enough to prompt her opponent to fold.

Ho Clipped

Current tournament chip leader Maria Ho opened from middle position to 850 and found a caller out of the big blind.

Ho called a bet of 1,600 on the flop of {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} only to see her opponent lead for 2,000 when the {A-Diamonds} dropped on the turn. Ho opted to raise to 5,200 and her opponent made the call before both players checked the {4-Spades} on the river.

Being shown {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} by her opponent, Ho mucked her hand as she slipped to 32,000 - but still remains the tournament chip leader.

Zarosky Doubles with Quads

Patti Zarosky limped from middle position and then called a 1,500-chip bet from her opponent.

The flop fell down {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Zarosky open-shoved to put her opponent to a decision for the majority of her chips. After close to three minutes of thinking, Zarosky's opponent made the call and the cards were tabled.

Zarosky: {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Out-flopping her opponent with a set of trips, it only got better when the {3-Spades} peeled on the turn to give her quad threes.

With the meaningless {7-Spades} landing on the river, Zarosky doubled through to 19,000, while leaving her opponent crippled.
