Coburn Burned

Ray Coburn lost all but 2,500 of his chips when his {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} lost a race against Steve Morra's {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. A couple of hands later, Coburn pushed with {K-Hearts}{9-Spades} and was in bad shape against Andrew Rennhack's {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. The board came {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{K-Spades}, and Coburn goes out just before the money.

There are now 109 players left, so the tournament slows down even more as we go to hand-for-hand play until the next elimination.

Shoving the Short Stack

While many players have tightened up, a short-stacked Erick Lindgren has taken the opposite course.

After losing most of his stack in a hand against Russell Crane, Lindgren just now was seen open-shoving all in three hands in a row, taking the 2,400 chips' worth of blinds and antes on each occasion. He's back up to 16,800.

Nothing But the Blues for Lederer

Howard Lederer, and his stacks of blues
Howard Lederer, and his stacks of blues
We came in on this hand on the turn, with the board showing {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and about 25,000 in the middle. Chris Klodnicki fired out a bet of 15,000 from the big blind, and Howard Lederer considered for a while before counting out four yellow (1000) chips and 22 blue (500) ones to make the call.

The river was the {2-Clubs}. This time Klodnicki bet 14,000. Out of yellows, Lederer went to his stack of blues and pushed out enough to call. "Jacks," said the dealer, as Klodnicki showed {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Lederer mucked.

As we approach the cash bubble, Lederer is down to about 15,000, while Klodnicki climbs to 78,000.

Levy Knocks Out Kitai

Davidi Kitai pushed all in with his last 10,000 from the cutoff with {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, and Adam Levy made the call from the button with {A-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

The flop was {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}, and Kitai was still looking to pair up. But the turn was the {A-Hearts}, making the river {10-Diamonds} inconsequential. Kitai is out, and Levy is now back close to his Day 2 starting stack of 34,000.

Parker Punts Depa

Jon Depa open-shoved from under the gun with his last 14,700, and Event No. 14 bracelet-winner Brock Parker made the call from the button.

Depa showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and Parker {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The board came eight-high -- {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} -- and Parker's tens held. Depa is out, and Parker is up to 135,000.

Another Notch on the Cowboy's Belt

Balazs Botond raised to 3,000 from middle position, then "Cowboy" Kenna James reraised to 8,500 from the small blind. Terrence Chan folded in the big blind, then Botond reraised all in with his last 30,000. James made the call, turning over {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} to Botond's {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

The board came {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, and James had eliminated Botond. James is up to 129,000.
