Bad Time for Bonavida

Ray Bonavida is bust. He got it in with pocket {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} on a {3-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {5-Clubs} flop against Stuart [Removed:293]'s {A-Hearts} {2-Spades} straight, and although he made a set on the {8-Spades} turn, none of his many outs materialized on the {Q-Diamonds} river and out he goes.

Heavy Bellies, Heavy Minds?

After a frantic day's play with mass eliminations the players went on dinner break. They filled their stomachs to stretching point and they came back to the table to continue there goal of reaching the final table. The problem is that their brains have diverted some of the energy used for poker to digesting the food in their bellies.

Or in other words play has slowed right down.

Banghart Gets Lucky

Jeff Banghart open-shoved in mid position for his last 30,000 and Dean Hamrick called on the button. Over to the small blind and the gent over there reshoved for 42,500 total; Hamrick called that too and they were on their backs.

Banghart: {K-Spades} {J-Clubs}
Hamrick: {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}
Mr Small Blind: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}

Board: {4-Clubs} Bink! {J-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {9-Hearts}

A very lucky Banghart triples up to 90,000 and Hamrick's stack is barely dented -- he's still on 325,000. The unfortunate small blind is still in after winning the side pot, but is now woefully short.

Shulruf-ing Up

Joel Shulruf is up to 135,000 chips right now. We didn't catch all the action on the hand that got him there but we know he held {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} to an opponent's {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} on a {Q-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {K-Spades} {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs}.

Jacks for the Lad

A raise from the cut off to 8,000 was met with a 32,000 three-bet from the button. David Chicotsky then got involved by asking the button player how much he had left behind. When he found out it was 85,000 he four-bet to 65,000. It was enough to show he was committed and enough to get the button to fold pocket jacks face-up instantly after the cut off player had folded.

Chicostky up to 145,000.

Derbyshire Doubles

Marty's watching you
Marty's watching you
"100k, motherf***ers!" said a cheerful Marty Derbyshire, bravely approaching the Pokernews bloggers' table. He further elaborated that he'd got it in with {A-?} {Q-?} and got himself a caller holding {A-?} {10-?} -- zero change on the board, and up he doubled.
