Caginess Rules

There was 100,000 in the pot preflop, but it looks as though Roberto Truijers on the cutoff and Dean Hamrick on the button just checked down the {6-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {6-Hearts} board until Truijers made a teeny tiny 30,000 value bet on the river. Hamrick called, and his pocket {5-Spades} {5-Hearts} were good as Truijers could only boast {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}.

Seth Lucks Out

Blind on blind, Andy Seth raised a whole stack of orange 5,000 chips -- overkill, seeing as the big blind only had 30,000 behind. The big blind duly called and was very much ahead with {A-Spades} {10-Diamonds} against Seth's {Q-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, but concentrate! Here comes the outdraw bit...

Board: {6-Spades} {3-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {4-Spades} {J-Spades}

Seth pulled a straight out of thin air and is up to 358,000; his hapless opponent heads for the payout desk.

Gold Goes to Galic, Just Not for Long

David Goldklang raised to 17,500 from UTG before being called by the player in the next seat, as well as Dragan Galic in the BB, and left himself with only 1,000 back.

That 1,000 went in on the {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} flop and both players called. The {5-Clubs} turn prompted Goldkland to bet in to the dry side pot for 15,000 to get it heads up. He opened {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} and was ahead of Galic's {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}. That was until the {A-Clubs} fell on the river to triple up a delighted Galic.

That joy didn't last long though, as by the time I got back to my seat I heard the, "Winner on on 64" announcement and looked over to see Galic heading to the payout desk.

Bang! You're Dead

A disaster for Jeff Banghart and one of those lovely moments when you stick your chips in worry-free for Roberto Truijers. Banghart opened for 17,000 in early position and then shoved for 60,000 when Truijers made it 40,000. A call, a showdown, an exit.

Banghart: {10-Hearts} {10-Spades}
Truijers: {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}

Board: an excitement-free {6-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {9-Spades} {9-Clubs} to send Banghart to the rail.

This Could Take Some Time

Players are surprisingly deep right now -- with the average stack at around 160,000, the more astute reader will recognize that that's 40 big blinds apiece, give or take. There are very few truly short stacks, and with the big money approaching, no-one really wants to gamble. Like I said, we could be in for a long night.

20 Minutes to Gather Your Thoughts

Play has turned veeeerrrrryyy slooowwww now. What our remaining 69 runners need is another break to go get themselves a nice tall glass of shoving juice. Good thing we're on a 20 minute break right now. Get the coffees in, folks, we're in for a long night...

Dragan Not Slayed Yet

Dragan
Dragan
Dragan Galic is still in there fighting against multiple St George's all around him. He just doubled his minuscule stack up to 8,000 after his ace-king stood the test of the ace-ten of his foe.
