Spilling Spades

Noah Boeken
Noah Boeken
We're watching the other tables, too, but here's kind of a strange one, again from Bryan Devonshire's table.

Devonshire raised from early position, and Noah Boeken called from the small blind. As the dealer was readying to deal the flop, three cards slipped from the bottom of the deck and were exposed -- the {A-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}. It was confirmed the cards had come from the bottom of the deck, and the hand continued with both players aware of what cards couldn't be dealt. (Hate to have had spades there, eh? Or an ace, for that matter.)

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Boeken bet, Devonshire raised, and Boeken called. The turn was the {J-Hearts}, and this time Boeken check-called Devonshire's bet. The river was the {3-Diamonds}, and again Boeken check-called.

Devonshire turned over {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for the flopped set, and Boeken mucked. Devonshire has 42,000 now, and Boeken 41,500.
