Negreanu Sliding Down...

Daniel Negreanu is down to about 10,000 after losing consecutive pots.

He had min-raised preflop with Michael Binger and the big blind coming along.

The flop was {K-Clubs} {5-Spades} {2-Clubs} and the big blind led for 3,600 (pot) after Binger checked, Negreanu called and Binger folded.

On the {J-Diamonds} turn it was checked to Negreanu who now bet the pot, instantly getting called before the river {2-Spades} went check, check. The big blind showed {A-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} for a huge flop hand and his aces up were now good on the river.

In the second hand Negreanu called 3,000 from the same player on the turn of a {8-Spades} {J-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} board before both checked the river. Negreanu was shown {Q-Clubs} {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {4-Spades} this time and mucked again.

Bevand, Danzer Chop

George Danzer was faced with an all-in of about 33,000 on a {K-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {2-Spades} board from Manuel Bevand. Danzer was out of his chair clearly counting out his percentages in his head. After a couple of minutes he called with {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {7-Diamonds} for aces and the nut low draw.

Bevand turned over {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} for top set no low draw.

When the {8-Hearts} appeared on the turn, Danzer allowed himself a little fistpump as he made the low and was now freerolling the other two aces in the deck for the high. The river was the {9-Diamonds} though and like most pots today, or Homer Simpson's regular dinner choice, it's time for a chop.

Lisandro Scoops Huge

The Power Of ,The Hat Is Strong...
The Power Of ,The Hat Is Strong...
Jeff Lisandro is the new chip leader after winning a huge all-in preflop pot. We arrived at the table where Lisandro had already committed 11,100 to the pot. He was reraised to 44,400 and moved in for about 50,050 total with {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} {3-Clubs} {7-Clubs} and was called by his opponent's {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} {2-Clubs}.

The board came out {9-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {10-Diamonds}, and with no low, Lisandro scooped with aces up over kings up.

He's now on 110,000.

Chainsaw and Lisandro Chop

With a board reading {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} all the chips go in between Allen Kessler and Jeff Lisandro holding {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} and {A-Spades} {10-Spades} {6-Spades} {5-Diamonds} respectively. The turn was the {8-Spades} giving Kessler the nut-low draw and the river {6-Diamonds} completed it.

But it also made Lisandro the boat. Once more chop up that pot Mr/Miss Dealer.

Roland's Hat of Victory

Roland de Wolfe, wearing an odd-looking hat, just came over to tell us this interesting tidbit of news.

"I've just won a huge pot wearing Eli Elezra's hat. I defeated Jeff Lisandro's hat..."

Clearly Jeff Lisandro's hat is not as good as Jeff Lisandro at poker. I've heard the hat is a pretty inactive player, frankly.

Chufty's Huge Stack

Richard Ashby is up to about 90,000 after getting his entire stack in with {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {2-Spades} on a {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} board against {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}. It was pretty tight at this point, Ashby could win with a king or a ten (that wasn't a diamond) while his opponent scooped with an eight or a diamond (that wasn't a king!)

These things do get complicated but Ashby's life became much easier when the {K-Hearts} came on the turn leaving the other player drawing to one of two aces for a split.

The river was the {Q-Hearts} and Richard Ashby looks to be our chip leader now.

Danzer Continues to Accumulate

George Danzer raises preflop to 1,500 and the big blind defends.

The flop is {9-Spades} {J-Hearts} {9-Hearts}, and it's checked to the German who bets 2,000. The big blind thinks for a moment before throwing in 3,000 as that's what he thought the bet was.

Since it's 50% more than the bet, it's deemed a min-raise and made to 4,000. Danzer called, but said he wasn't entirely convinced the guy had made a mistake, thinking the other player might be making a move to look weak.

On the {A-Clubs} turn, the big blind checked again and Danzer bet 3,500 before being check-raised to 7,000.

"At this point I was sure he had jacks full!" said Danzer, but he elected to make the call. The river was the {8-Hearts} and the big blind led out for 3,000 and Danzer called, getting shown a flush, but the German flipped {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for the boat.

Jan Heitmann watching from the rail said, "I think if he [the big blind] pushes on the river then George would fold..."

Ivey Turns Up...

Phil Ivey is the chip leader in the $2,500 Stud-8/Omaha-8 event and he's just turned up to play a few hands in the $5,000 PLO8 now as well...

Will his plan be spin-up or bust-out?
