Dinner!

As Tony Cousineau put it, "We're all one for one in dinner breaks." The 594 players that are left are all on a 90-minute dinner break.

We'll see you back here then!

Leonidas Doing Well

Since being moved across the room, Toto Leonidas has been doing quite well for himself. He's sitting nice and snug with his chair pulled right up to the rail of the table, nestled down in his hooded sweatshirt with cap pulled down over his eyes. Quiet and unassuming, Leonidas has been able to build up to almost 14,000 chips.

Jan and Linda Still Around

Jan Fisher is currently sitting on about 10,000 chips after she took took a pot on the river. She fired after both her opponents checked to her and then they both folded. A common phrase coming from that table seems to be "Nice hand, ma'am." everytime Fisher takes a pot. One must question whether most of the players at her table know who Jan Fisher is.

Linda Johnson is across the room from Fisher and nursing a smaller stack of 2,900. Johnson hasn't really been able to get anything going for much of today.

Jon Turner Loses Ground

Jon Turner
Jon Turner
Jon "PearlJammed" Turner bet the flop of {K-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} into his opponent. The opponent raised and Turner made the call.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Turner fired out again. His opponent again raised and Turner again called.

After the river fell the {K-Hearts}, pairing the top card on the board, Turner checked. His opponent fired and Turner tanked, but then made the call. The player flipped up {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} for a full house, kings full of nines, and Turner mucked.

With that hand, Turner dropped down to 5,000 chips.

Some other notable chip stacks include Chris Reslock at 4,500 and Jimmy Fricke at 8,000. Allie Prescott has unfortunately been ousted from this event.

Mike Matusow Eliminated... Again

Just minutes after getting bad beat out of the $40K event, Mike Matusow walked across the room in an attempt to nurse his short stack here in the $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better tournament. It was a little too late.

With just 400 chips left, Mike got all in with a chance to triple up. Unfortunately, when the hand was done, his pair of 9s and busted flush draw wasn't enough to best his opponent's two pair.

Record-breaking Field

The tournament staff just announced that with last year's field being 833 entrants, this year saw about a 9.5% increase in field size to 918 runners. In doing so, this event has set the record for the largest Omaha-8 or Better tournament ever.

Congratulations to all the entrants for being a part of WSOP history!

Jerry Buss Eliminated

Wandering around the room, we've noticed that Jerry Buss has just busted from the tournament. At least he'll get home in time to watch the Lakers.

A few other notable chip stacks we've seen belong to the following players:

Chad Brown - 11,500
Farzad Rouhani - 13,000
Annie Duke - 8,000
