Three Kings Not Enough for Johnston

Berry Johnston
Berry Johnston
In a hand we caught on the turn, Berry Johnston check-called in for his last 1,400 on a board of {Q-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

Johnston: {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: {J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

When the river brought a brick, Johnston's kings couldn't beat his opponent's straight, and Johnston had to cash in his last add-on chip for another 2,500.

The Force is Strong

In another hand we caught in progress, Leif Force and his opponent got all in on a flop of {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

Force showed {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw and an over-pair while his opponent held {7-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} for middle pair and a gut-shot. The {Q-Spades} on fourth street brought Force's flush and the {7-Clubs} didn't change the nuts. With the hand, Force doubled up to 11,000.

Hamby Gets There on the River

Jared Hamby
Jared Hamby
Jared Hamby and his opponent got their stacks in the middle before the flop.

Hamby: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

When the flop came {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, Hamby was still behind, but that all changed on the turn, which brought the {10-Hearts} and three of a kind. The {7-Spades} on the river didn't change a thing, and Hamby doubled up to 9,400.

Chopping Bloch

In a four-way limped pot, the player in the big blind led out for 350 on a flop of {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and got called by Andy Bloch. Daniel "amichaikk" Makowsky and Clonie Gowen both folded.

When the {4-Spades} fell on fourth street, the big blind checked and Bloch bet 2,000. When the big blind check-raised, Bloch made the call for less.

Bloch: {10-Clubs}{J-Spades}{K-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

When the {9-Hearts} fell on the river, both players made their straight and chopped the pot. Bloch now has 3,900 plus one add-on chip.

Ins and Outs

Phil Hellmuth and Andy Bloch both took seats in today's event right at the break, while Max Pescatori and Jimmy Fricke have each made their exits since we've come back.

Medic Needs Help

Nenad Medic got all in with jacks before the flop, and ran into an opponent with aces.

Medic: {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

When the board ran {3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}, Medic couldn't improve and was left with just his two add-on chips.

Farha Doubles

A flop of {5-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds} was good enough to get Sammy Farha and his opponent to ship their chips into the middle.

Farha: {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Opponent: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

While Farha was behind his opponent's trip fives, he did hold the wrap, but hit his flush when the board finished with the {9-Spades} and {6-Spades}.

When the hand was over, Farha racked up 18,700 in chips and still had one add on available.

Burt Boutin Busted

A flop of {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} led to the end of Burt Boutin's day after he got all in against Vivek Rajkumar.

Boutin: {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Rajkumar: {J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

With Boutin looking for a double gutter and Rajkumar looking for the wrap, the {J-Clubs} fell on fourth street, giving Rajkumar two pair, which held up when the {K-Spades} spiked on the river.

Boutin left the table while Rajkumar stacked up 10,100 in addition to his two add-on chips.
