Tempers Taut

It's late. Players have been playing poker all day. They're tired. It's natural that there are going to be a few disputes. We just witnessed one at 182, where one player announced raise while putting chips out in front of his hand. He didn't have enough chips for the raise, so he went back to his stack to complete the raise.

The other player in the hand, the big blind, yelled it was a string raise. The dealer agreed, prompting the small blind to sputter with rage. A floor was summoned, with the small blind jamming his finger in the face of the dealer. After instructing the small blind to calm down, the floor listened to the story and ruled that the verbal raise declaration was binding.

Now it was the big blind's turn to steam. He argued that it was the wrong ruling, but the floor would not budge. "I've made my decision, sir. You can call or fold."

"Or raise," Bryan Micon helpfully added from the other end of the table.
